Neighbourhood: Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

Saw a Christmas concert here and it was lovely. The best part was that the church had the chairs FACING the organ so we could watch - usually the organ is behind you and you can't see what a physical work out it is for the organist. It was great! It was also heated, which is an improvement over most churches in PRG. Also, make sure you read about the history of the church and the neat name!

The St. Martin in the Wall Church is an ancient, beautifully preserved church set amongst the winding back streets and quaint buildings of the Old Town. It is located just a few minutes walk from both the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square.
St. Martin in the Wall Church was built in the Romanesque period.
it is a very unassuming church inside, but the acoustics were phenomenal. We saw 2 performances while in Prague and this was our favourite. Although the musicians were considered 'students' they were extremely talented. You can buy your tickets the evening of, and we got discounted rates. I will always fondly remember this performance, Vivaldi Four Seasons. It was wonderful.

Intimate classical performance with perfect acoustics.
No heating but the performance was astounding. The audience is small and very close to the performers. Music was uplifting and stirring.
This church is simple and honest, not like the overwhelming baroque frescoes and gold you find in other churches. But for me this made the experience more intense and genuine. It was simple with the music performance of Christmas music, Ave Marias and traditional Czech compositions holding our attention for an hour.
Having been to other similar performances I preferred this venue.

Superb string quartet concert in this small, centrally located, church with amazing acoustics.
Exceptional musicians playing a variety of, mostly familiar, classical tunes. The British contingent should recognise the Hovis and Hamlet cigar adverts featured in this arrangement of Chez and World Music.
Can't praise the musicians highly enough.

The setting is intimate. The musicians were exceptional. The acoustics were excellent. This concert was like putting an exclamation point on an already-outstanding day. The selections were familiar and included some of my favorites. Entire concert lasted just under an hour . . . . so it fit well between a day of sight-seeing and dinner.

If you want glorious and stirring music in an intimate setting with fabulous acoustics, this concert is for you! We went this evening and felt we had never had a better experience. Smetana, Bach, Brahms and much more. Got tickets in the Tyne Church music box office. Every member of this string quartet is a consummate professional. They are to be congratulated and thanked!

We were privileged to be able to sing in this heated church with an excellent acoustic. We were made very welcome in his intimate and very ancient building. It is very accessible and only a short walk to the Old Square.

If you're a Rick Steves fan just be aware that there is no longer a free jam session at 17:00. There is a show at 18:00 for 500kr with a few talented musicians and it goes for 60 mins. We saw one with an organist, a violinist, and a soprano opera singer. The church had good sound but it was pricey for what it was. There are a lot of shows in that area and live music in restaurants.

My wife and I bought tickets to a string concert here in the church. The music was superlative. When they played Smetana's The Moldau, the hair stood up on the back of my neck, and I am not Czech. It was moving and evoked strong emotions.
They played for an hour. The music was poplar and very enjoyable: Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, etc. I contrast this selection of music, and my experience, to a concert at the Mirabell palace in Salzburg a few days later. Though professional, the Salzburg musicians played obscure classical pieces than bored me to death.
The St Martin's group received a well-deserved standing ovation at the close and returned for an encore. This was an outstanding experience and should not be missed.

we were lucky to book a concert there but you don't need to book in advance. the travel agent charged us twice the ticket price while the concert had less than 15 persons.... the artists are very talented and they seem to enjoy the nice noise reduction architecture... the best concert without microphones.

What concerts will be available from Sept 28 to Oct 2?
Where do we get tickets and what is the cost for seniors?
What public transit trams, metro stops are closest?
Are there still ‘jam sessions’ on Mondays?
Written 2 August 2015
Most of your questions can be answered at the Prague ticket office website site.
I could not find anything about a 'jam session' on Monday, but the site reports there is a concert that night, September 28th, at 6pm (18:00).
