Neighbourhood: Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

We were guests of the Charles university medical school 2. It was raining lightly, but once in, we basically toured certain sections of what amounts to be the convocation hall for many professional (ie medical doctor, dentist etc), Masters and doctoral studies students. While not that old, much of the building dates back to the Velvet Revolution, it was impressive: steeped in history and academic pageantry.

Nice university hall for graduation ceremonies.
It could be improved by adding more presentation of the university history and accomplishment.

This is a nice university with some fine halls.
not too sure it's a tourists' magnet, but if you're in the area, it's worth peeking into this fine institution.

I love nothing better than walking around the wonderful Old Town of Prague, so many beautiful buildings, one of the most impressive to view is the Karolinum.
One of the oldest universities in the Czech Republic, its was founded in 1348 by Holy Roman Emperor and King Of Bohemia, its such a great looking building, very photogenic, its a building most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate on Ovocny Trh.

Karolinum is one of the oldest universities in the Czech Republic, walking around the wonderful Old Town streets you become blasé to the outstanding architecture that greets the eyes on every street but you sometimes forget the history.
We were wandering around the Old Town late at night,we had been to the magnificent Church Of St Havel and the beautiful Estates Theatre and after having a selfie took with Il Commendatore ( great statue ) we found ourselves on a street called Ovocny trh were you have great views of the magnificent Karolinum ,founded in 1348 by the Holy Roman Emperor and king of all Bohemia Charles IV ,the architecture is so ornate, never had a chance to visit the university, don't know if you can but I was suitably impressed with the facade ,took a few photos before we moved on.
Easy to locate and most definitely well worth checking out, the Karolinum is found on Ovocny trh.

This unique monument belongs to Charles University since 1383. After building adaptations Carolinum became not only the seat of professors, but also ceremonial assembly and residence of the rector, academic representatives and authorities.
I suggest you visit this medevial building and its premises, which is a part of Charles University, founded in 1348 by Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, the King of Bohemia.

Karolinum is one of the oldest universities in Europe. From medieval time they are here on this location, and students are still here. That's the reason why Prague is young and lively.

As we can see on foto - 07.04.1348 Charles IV approved the foundation of University - so 07.04.2013 was 665-th anniversary of foundation and all comers could visit rooms in Karolinum which usually are closed even for students - so I was lucky to observe Karolinum inside! The building is a great historic monument itself and the most visited place for a great number of student during their studies! They say that the most difficult thing in studies in Karolinum building is to open the front door from Celetna Street;)) - and it's really heavy and huge!:)))
