On the Old Town side of Charles Bridge, this Gothic tower built in 1373 is flanked by sculptures of St Vitus and Charles IV. Open to the public,it offers excellent views of the Old Town and the Vltava River to visitors who climb the narrow staircase. The tower once displayed the heads of twelve Protestant leaders executed in 1621, and was also the site of the final conflict of the Thirty Years War (1618-1648).

Four of us climbed this tower on a perishing, windy day to see excellent views. The staircase is eclosed so if you're a bit wary of hieghts, you feel secure. It was a bit windy up top but enclosed by masonry; you can peep out...More

This is a great way to see over the city and identify areas of interest. There was a very friendly guide at the top who chatted to me and very helpfully pointed out some sights to see, he even took the time to give me...More

360 degree views of the city. Reasonably priced and great to watch at sunset. The top of the tower itself is kinda cramped so expect to wait to get the view/photo ad there is not a lot of space to walk. This is definitely worth...More

Climb the steep and probably non-OHS staircase to the top of the historic tower and you will be rewarded with 360 views of this beautiful city! Not good for those with poor mobility or fear of heights, but gave the best view!

Definetly worth visting. During the day and at dusk are better. There is not great lighting to view the bridge late at nite.

The door is tucked away at one end of the Charles Bridge, and we weren't even sure we were allowed to enter, but we did. The ticket office is up a couple of flights of stairs, the museum is a little higher, and then the...More

We thought we would just go up for the view across the bridge but were taken aback by how good the information was about the tower and the bridge and it's history. To get tickets, go through the doorway and go up the stairs until...More

Fun way to work off the high caloric Czech food. Many hotels in Prague have gyms. I never understood who goes. In Prague, practically on every corner, you can climb a tower for a great workout. Why not this one ?? Yes, there is a...More

Originally built as a defensive tower at the end of the Charles Bridge, the tower was part of the fortifications of the Old Town and served as a gateway to it. The tower also served as a triumphal arch for Czech kings to pass through...More

Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents
the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is
bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický
square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle
in the background, is probably the most beautiful
square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere
of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and
squares, and stone towers blend together with the

There are many towers around the city that offer great views. They are listed in nearly all good guide books.
