We had an amazing time with Chef Vladmir. He shared with us all sorts of fascinating stories and insights into the Czech culture as he taught us to make the 3 dishes. The atmosphere was super relaxed and a comfortable environment to learn in. We made a ton of food and it was great to know that all extra food is given to the homeless.
Fun to learn that they also film master chef here too!

I booked this tour through Viator. It was an excellent choice as it is an interesting tour. I started the tour with meeting at the markets. The chef and tour guide was Anita. She had an assistant and we toured the markets looking at and buying ingredients that we needed for the dishes we were making. It was great to see where the locals bought their ingredients and hear explanations on the items we were buying.
We then caught taxis back to their kitchens. We were then offered refreshments and given recipes. The dishes we made were deep fried meat balls, goulash soup, green pea gravy, Hungarian cheese biscuits, as well as sour cherry/apple strudels.
Anita was informative and a great teacher. We all got our hands dirty preparing all the items. Anita and assistants were on hand to help us. It was really good to actually do the processes rather than having everything already chopped for you.
After we prepared all the meals we all sat down to lunch and it was a delicious feast. There were lots of leftovers and they gave us containers and foil to take them home.
Overall a great tour and well worthwhile to do if you visit Budapest.

Based on my good team-building experience, I have ordered two gift voucher for my kids, due to COVID risk kids were not able to redeem the voucher. Hence I have requested Chefparade staff to extend the voucher, unfortunately even in this difficult time to extend the voucher for a minimum of 6 months, I need to pay 40% extra fees. Which I found non-customer friendly.
Though I understand all the businesses are suffering from COVID, the future of business is good customer experience.
I wish good luck to Chefparade, in these difficult COVID times.

From reading the other reviews for this class, I was extremely excited to book this activity. It seemed like a great thing to do & that we would learn and do a huge amount, due to their advertised ‘hands-on’ role. This was extremely far from the truth.
The market tour was essentially a waste of time. We were showed to stalls and told ‘these sell x because they are in season’. There was no interaction with the stalls or actual purchasing of ingredients. No information about what to look for and what not to look for.
When we actually got to the kitchen to begin ‘cooking’, it was beyond basic. Everything was pre-prepared aside from cutting some vegetables and frying some onions. Most ingredients were actually frozen, including the mushrooms and bread, which made no sense to me due to the market being right next door. Even the meat we used was cheap chicken thighs which was completely precooked for us, and we didn’t interact with it at all.
I’m so genuinely upset at how disappointing my experience was considering the price we paid, which rivals the same as a tasting menu in some of the top restaurants in Prague. The ‘course’ was even finished at 11.30am instead of the advertised 1.30pm.
I’m not sure if I just got extremely unlucky or if I had different expectations, however I know for sure that I’ll be doing more research before booking this sort of activity again.

I'm having a hard time deciding on a rating for this one. We take a lot of cooking classes in our travels so that we don't end up just doing museums and cathedrals and castles, and this one was solid but not stellar. The food was traditional and good, the instruction was clear and in perfect English, and the facility was a nice commercial kitchen. Learning about mushroom hunting was interesting also. The market tour made it clear that Prague is much like American cities in farmer's markets - there was little there that we don't see at home, except for some mushrooms, mead and a fresh milk vending machine.
Our chef teacher was friendly and often enthusiastic but seemed a bit tired of interacting with tourists, perhaps. I was also disappointed that the cake we made (in the shape of a lamb) was cut before we could see it. A little thing, but if you are going to make a shaped cake, it does seem that you should see the shape.
The directions we were given by ChefParade were incorrect and created a significant delay in our arrival. This could be corrected easily.

My adult daughter and I took a class with Yazan. We didn't do the shopping trip, just the 3 hour class. The amount of time was perfect for us.
Yazan, our chef, was very nice, helpful, fun and did his best to educate us. We made soup- then ate it... made potato pancakes with sauerkraut- and ate that.. then made a wonderful strawberry dessert and by the time we finished that, we were stuffed!!
Everything was very delicious and we learned about presentation of the food as well.
I highly recommend a class here. The email interactions beforehand were flawless. (That's a big plus!!!) Very professional and fun.

Dear Janet,
thank you very much for the review.
It is also great that you appreciate the fact that you weren't forced to eat the 3-course meal at once. We are doing our best to make the cooking class convenient for our customers (and their stomach).
Yes, indeed, Yazan can really make the cooking class special & educative & fun at the same time.
You are too kind for highliting my email instructions which I send in advance since I can imagine how tricky it can be to get around Prague.
A big thanks to you again!

We enjoyed an amazing morning with Chefparade, visiting the market and cooking traditional Czech food. We took a walk to the local farmers market, and then proceeded (with excellent instruction) to make a three-course meal - including bread dumplings, which were fun/interesting to create. The wine pairing really completed the experience. The place was squeaky-clean and roomy.
Perfect for small groups - or, as a former meeting planner, definitely a great team building activity.

After 7 days in Prague and doing everything this great city had to offer, my wife and I rank Chefparade at the top of our list as one of the best times we had in Prague.
Dominique was extremely helpful setting the whole thing up, and our chef Vladimir was patient and interesting, making the event fun.

My teenagers and I attended chef parade for a cooking class in Prague. It was w/o question the very best activity that we did during our holiday. It doesn't get any better than preparing your own authentic Czech meal!!! Chef Radek was so much fun and very good with my kids. They loved it, the cooking as well as the eating. The kitchen where we prepared our meal looked like something from a TV set, with every gadget and fancy appliances you could think of. The trip to the market was very cool too!! I highly recommend this activity!!
