We visited the castle district when the snow was still lying heavy on the ground and it was picture postcard perfect. You feel you are in a bygone time. You do have to be searched at the entrance to the district and then opt for tickets to see the main attractions (as many of few as you want). The area... More

I always admire the baroque and gothic buildings around the castle district. Take time to roam around and enjoy the locality. When I come back to Prague I will definitely stay in a hotel near the castle district.

Big area to walk around. Beautiful views. Very clean. Shops and cafes. You can climb the stairs or take transportation to the top and walk down.

Be sure to have a trip up to the castle and walk round. Great architecture to see and of course the history pre WW2.

It's nice because you are away from the crowds but at night there are very few people around and there are limited food options. You can always take tram 22 down to the city.

I was mazed for this district, so many restaurants, bars, shops and the architecture was very interesting and beautiful. Please go and have a look. You will like it. have a coffee in one of the little coffee shops. If you are looking for food definitely you will find something for you here.

when moving and walking around the city you can not help but notice a breathtaking panorama of the Vltava River and the Prague Castle as majestically on a hill, nice view

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
