We visited old town and had a lovely walk and managed to get happily lost, we kept the maps in our pockets. We went on an old town hall tour that took you into each of the 4 houses, under ground in each of them, as well as the tower. The tours were available in different languages and it was... More

The Old Town Prague is a fantastic place to visit. The buildings have a variety of stunning architecture, you could wander around the narrow cobble streets for days and still get lost even though it's small enough to negotiate on foot. You feel safe as police patrol regularly. There are numerous restaurants & bars here, and more than enough quality... More

Absolutely beautiful area with many great restaurants and awesome buildings. Lots of shopping too, but perhaps priced for tourists a little too much.

If visiting Prague it would not be complete without visiting here. Loads to see and do, highly recommended. Lots of bars, restaurants, street entertainers, tourist shops, museums etc. Be wary of pickpockets and touts.

Very busy with lots of different things going on. Worth a visit. Ideal to start a city tour on the hop on hop off buses which runs every 20 mins. The view from the top of the clock is impressive

If you are in Prague it would be difficult to not visit this area as it is in the centre of town and is near to, or contains, other sites that should be seen. We visited in December and the square was filled with a Christmas market and a fantastic Christmas tree. It is especially attractive at night with all... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
