Neighbourhood: Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

I travelled in Prague and this attraction is a must visit. They say if you touch the shoes of the statue they bring good luck :)

We stopped by there as we saw a tour guide talking to some people about this very unique statue. The story behind the statue was as interesting as it looked. Nice place to take a few pics as well.

We went in easily and paid 50 CZK. The exhibition is nice, informative and gets you into the gloomy atmosphere of Kafka. We found the place informative with many Kafka's artifiacts that you can buy. Each visitor gets a postcard upon purchase of a ticket.

Kafka to me is a man who spent his life trying to interpret the struggles of class, particularly working class being subservient to society and the upper classes.
So ironic in the fact, that all around you can go and spend your money on all kinds of Kafkaesque things around this part of the city, I am sure I could have picked up a fridge magnet or a waving Kafka for my car window somewhere too!
Anyway, this place seems to refer to a statue, representing the working class masses(the large headless man) being controlled by the richer upper class minority, (the smaller man riding on the big mans shoulders, directing him)
So it is interesting that you see industry cashing in on him, ironic eh?
Anyway, a lovely statue, in a really beautiful part of Prague.

Nobody cared of Kafka during his lifetime, except for a few friends, but now his memory is revived in several places of Prague, among which this one seems the poorest, although it is the house where he was born. The one-room exhibit, poorly displayed, doesn't show or say much about Kafka. If the traveller wants to see and know more about Kafka, there are other places. The Kafka Museum in Hergetova Cihelna (in Mala Strana) is the best place for that.

I was unable to find the Kafka's House exactly. It is not indicated very well and in any case you cannot enter in. Instead besides the Jewish District of Prague you can find the monument in honor of Franz Kafka.

Came across this Statue whilst exploring the Jewish District of Prague. Its in honour of Franz Kafka who was a German-speaking Bohemian Jewish novelist. A good statue albeit a little scary.

A statue commemoratiing Kafka's Birthplace in the centre of Jewish Prague. It's by the bridge close to the Spanish Synagogue, not easy to miss it. As for a museum dedicated to Kafka, I would recommend the one on the other side of Vltava River, it's quite close to the Charles bridge.
