The Czech Republic is famous for its beautifull architecture. But there are not only the treasures which are visible on first sight on the streets. Beneath the town is an other city. The one from before.

Interesting

Enjoyed the tour but you don't really get to see much for the hour tour. Quite expensive for €20... interesting to hear about the floods and the fire.

So glad I took this tour. Absolutely fascinating. You learn about the history of ancient Prague which was originally built at this underground height. Why it was filled in and rebuilt to the ground level now, up to WW2 and how they were used. Must do in Prague.

We had Victoria as our guide, very friendly and warm... and our group was a small one - 6 of us maybe it's because it's March (off-season). At the start of the tour, we were briefed that we'll make two stops - the old town hall and *something.. Kunstatu. On both locations, we did a quick walk around and were... More

This is an absolute must do somewhere early on in your trip! The history of the tour was fascinating. We were shocked to learn how it all came about! Our tour guide Anna was great! Would highly recommend this to every one that travels to Prague! We are not big into tours, we prefer to see things at our own... More

A short and sweet tour. Tickets were inexpensive and it gave some good background information. Definitely worth doing when in Prague.

For me this tour was a real waste of money at 400CZK . The day walks that were free lastest 4 hours were way more informative, this walk was for just about an hour. The guide spoke so fast it was hard to hear what she was saying, the book that she had to show us pictures of the past... More

We went on the tour late this afternoon. The tour, in summary, was found to be very informative and entertaining and very much in line with the description in the flyer.. enjoyed by 2 parents and 2 sons (one 10 and one 15 years old). The tour guide was perfectly friendly, charming and informative young lady who engaged with the... More

this tour provided a wonderful insight into the history of Prague - providing an insight into the history of the town, how buildings were raised and how the undergrounds we visited were originally at ground level - the windows / doors positioned in such a way as to make attacks on buildings more difficult and explained the way the city... The Under ground tour is well worth doing and it only takes about an hour. You will see some of the "old city" as it was hundreds of years ago. After visiting numerous locations you get a great insight in how the city used to be.

We came to the underground of Prague as part of a Tauck tour. We learned that at one time this area was at ground level. But then because of flooding officials built up the ground level. The tour also took us to many other areas that were part of Medieval Prague, including the Old Town Hall, the Astronomical Clock and... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
