You can only see the library from one side. You aren't allowed to wander around it. It is pretty though. Afterwards, they bring you up to the observatory. There are good views to be had after climbing. There were also some lovely old books on display but these were only reproductions. This is one of the best looking libraries in... More

The Hall of Mirrors evening concert is a MUST DO. It was incredible!! The performers were outstanding. The venue was fabulous. Great way to spend an evening. We will definitely repeat this on our next trip to Prague.

The main attraction is the library of which you will get a brief view from the door before being shuffled on by the rest of your tour group who all want to get a look. The rest of the building is quite interesting and includes a hike to the top of the observatory tower for a good view over the... More

I only came to see the famous Baroque Library, to discover entrance was only via a designated tour & time, which included the church and astonomical tower. The library was very limited entrance, lights turned on just for the tour group, stand in the doorway, absorb it as they don't permit photos, then step out of the way for the... More

All the monastery, including the famous library, is closed. Poor explanation of what is going on there. We asked for someone from the staff when it would be open to public again and he said: "I don't know. It is under restoration". The website isn't clear as well.

We went to a concert in the Mirror Chapel. The concert we chose was 'The best of Mozart in old Prague'. Other nights have different concerts, but we went to a concert almost every evening, so chose the music carefully to avoid hearing the Four Seasons every time. This concert was the absolute best of all we attended. It was... More

If you're not a die-hard fan of classical music, Prague is a good place to experience it. The concerts are usually an hour long (just long enough before you start getting bored) and are reasonably priced. The pieces are usually well-known pieces most people somewhat acquainted with classical music will have heard of. I paid 650 CZK from the ticket... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
