The old Post office building worth seeing from the inside. For architecture lovers and not only will be pleasantly surprised how many details it has and how well it is maintained.

Needed to send a package home to Colorado from Prague. The touchscreen sign in process was ez to follow and came in Czech, German, and English. Once I filtered down to the service I wanted, it gave me a number slip an what windows were dealing with my issue. Large beautiful interior, with lots of people wanting a variety of... More

It's a massive post office which confused me where to go but apart from that it's beautiful. Opened most of the time which was great when I had to send a parcel off after my placement. Unfortunately wasn't allowed to take pics and I wasn't comfortable taking sneaky pics lol. Other than that people should come and see it, especially... More

The hall of Prague´s main post office is definitely worth seeing for the paintings on the walls of the central hall. It is also a rather efficient and fast post office, so if you need to send some mail or make payments, you do not have to queue for long. There are two special counters selling Czech stamps.

We visited because we wanted to see the inside of the Ceska Posta again. We had more time on this trip to visit some of the more obscure places, we have known in Prague. This is the most beautiful post office I have ever seen. Italy and France have some pretty once in small towns too, but perhaps that is... More

The Czech Post Office is not exactly foreigner-friendly. If you aren't aware of the ticketing system, or inadvertently take a ticket for the "wrong" counter, you'll need to wait - possibly a long time. But as post offices go, it's an absolutely beautiful building and your wait will be rewarded with fine sgraffito and interesting murals. On hot days running... More

We were very much in doubt when the souvenir shops staff told us that the post office is still open that day (on Sunday evening). Reason being, we were at the smaller postal office near to our hotel before and it was closed that time. But then, we accidentally found this post office (after getting a little lost at their... Our sightseeing brochure recommended visiting , describing it as "the most beautiful post office you will ever see". Not sure about that - but we did need some stamps. Yes, it is certainly worth visiting both outside and the inside for the architecture, not quite so good if you need stamps. As you enter they have a machine to get... More

I din't like czech post just like every czech person. It is the only enterprise that is running exactly the same as in the communist era. This branch might be the only exception. It is a bit more efficient, still very far from the western standard.

Big building, and you can get your postcards sent there while you admire the sheer size of the room. 3,- for a card and 25,- more to send it, so not terribly expensive. Worth a visit.

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
