Top ways to experience Jewish Prague by Pearl
The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Josefov
Josefov houses Prague’s Jewish community. This small neighbourhood centered around Široká street is completely surrounded by Staré Město (Old Town). As the former Jewish Ghetto, today all that remains are a few synagogues and the oldest surviving Jewish cemetery in Europe. The narrow streets were once small enough that a person could touch the houses on both sides. You can still feel the dignity and history this neighbourhood carries in its legacy as Franz Kafka’s birthplace. Nearby streets are full of kosher restaurants, museums and antique bookstores.

Another Excellent walking area, great shops that are less expensive than the Old Town Square and watch out for the Golem!

Pearl is 5 Star Tour Guide

Pearl is a most honest person who is very caring about her guests.
When we booked with Pearl, she was so caring about our needs and was happy to welcome us! One of the guests on this trip did not show up at the last minute and Pearl did not charge the wife anything for the absent husband! (Yet on another tour in another city, they insisted on charging the entire price for a sick, absent person.)
Of course the most important fact about Pearl is her knowledge and passion for her city, Pearl. Even though it was busy time and Prague Castle was packed, Pearl managed to take us around to show us general landmarks and explore the city's Jewish history. Her knowledge about Prague's culture - past and present is remarkable. We learned so much and were very happy with our choice of guide.
Thank you Pearl. David and Chavi Silberstein from Toronto.

Pearl's 3 hour walking tour of Jewish Museum in Prague was a highlight of our brief visit in Prague and a great way to start our 3 day vacation. Pearl is a knowledgeable and engaging guide. She brings to life the century’s long history of the Jews of Prague in both local and international context. She was also open about her own life and experiences having lived in Czechoslovakia, USA and Israel. There were 5 of us on this tour. It was an ideal size for a group tour. We highly recommend Pearl. She is one of the most talented guides we have had during years of international travel.

Pearl' s Tour of Jewish Museum in Prague was highlight of our trip

Pearl D' Evereux is a superb guide. She has a wealth of knowledge of the Jewish communities in Czechoslovakia from its origins at the beginning of 10th century to the present time. Although my husband and I had visited Prague on previous occasions, Pearl was able to expand our perspective in a meaningful way.
We have been on 3 hour tours of Jewish interest elsewhere, but Pearl's tour is definitely a cut above. Pearl's tour of Jewish Prague is not to be missed!

Pearl was a lovely tour guide. Being native to Prague and Jewish she brought personal experience, knowledge and sensitivity to the tour which covered many unique and not so obvious details about this very ancient Jewish community which dates back to before the 9 th century I believe, and almost completely terminated due to the Holocaust. Even the tour of the cemetery, something I usually would not do, was made fascinating by Pearl . She kept a very comfortable pace and made several recommendations that only someone who is familiar with our kosher lifestyle could make. I highlight this point because we passed a city tour and over heard the self described non Jewish guide make ignorant remarks to her group which I won't go into detail. I highly recommend Pearl to anybody who is interested in the history of not just the Jewish people of Prague but also Prague in general.
