Top ways to experience Havlicek Park and nearby attractions

The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.

We sought out this park because we wanted to find a serene, green space with benches where we could read, people watch, relax. We brought along a blanket in case there were no benches (there were LOTS of benches, some in the sun, some in the shade). We used the blanket to spread out on the grass, fall asleep, watch the clouds. Heavenly!

This review is mainly for the Cafe at the Pavilion in the Park, but, we did have a walk around.

We did have a nice day in the Park, there's a lovely cave you can walk in and almost a regal like a fountain and surrounding building.

The Cafe is lovely, it was a nice warm sunny day so we sat outside. Fast service. We ordered a couple of toasted paninis and coffees and it worked out reasonable price.

A very cozy grotto in the heart of Prague.

This will be a paradise on Earth mainly for your children who will have a blast running through narrow pathways of the grotto.

The grotto is very compact and offers some nice views from above. I am sure the place is a lush greenery in summer. Also, notice artificial steps, roots and stubs that have been used as bird feeders.

But there is more to the park than the grotto. Go enjoy the view from the villa while your kids skate on an ice skate rink (written in December). The views are nice and uninterrupted. You are in the centre but it feels like you are distant from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.

You could easily spend a few hours here. Come and enjoy this little oasis a stone’s throw away from the main sights.

A beautiful large public park that has well kept walking paths, lawns, large playground for children, and lots of trees. We came to specifically see the picturesque grotto with Neptune fountain. Unfortunately, time constraints prevented us from exploring further, we did not see the café or any buildings but will definitely visit them next time. Even though the children’s playground was busy, the rest of the park was almost empty. A very relaxing place! Right behind the grotto is very picturesque row of beautifully restored pastel colored houses some with beautiful flower arrangements on balconies.

Nice Park to walk in.. I think it's closed at night so watch the time. There is small hidden place with fountain which is really worth seeing. Really nice nature place of Prague.

This park is an unexpected oasis in the middle of Prague city, not far from Wenceslas Square. Take a stroll through, or just sit by one of the ponds, or waterfall.

Not far from Namesti Miru in quiet block of Praha where tourists usually not go. Good place for walks, sit and rest or enjoy beautiful view. Have awesome rock stone......grot (i guess) where is easy to break your neck but more important get some "wow" emotions. Too bad that in cute romantic cave which was maded for relax some not very intelligent persons do their needs so smell not allow to stay there.
Plus, here is a Grebovka Wine Cellar. I wasnt inside of a boulding but here is a amazing view on the city with vineyards under your nose.
Locals do exercises, gorups of kids from nearest kindergarden taking a walks here, elders enjoying of peace.....great place

If you are in the area, this is a great park to take a stroll through. I thoroughly enjoyed walking through the Grotta. Unfortunately the weather turned just as I arrived so I left soon after but there is also a beautiful 'gazebo' like none I've ever seen, which overlookis a vineyard. There is also a cafe (Pavilon Grébovka). This park would be a great place to spend a sunny afternoon.

This park is an oasis of peace and tranquillity.
Spectacular views and wonderful wild life. (Keep an eye out for red squirrels foraging.)
