Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ma le guide che suggeriscono di visitare questa cittadina mi devono spiegare cosa ci trovano! The brewery (if you want to spend €22 on a tour in German, Czech or English), the cathedral... Stop. That's it! Conclusion we got back on the first train and left for Prague... rather I paid the supplement for bringing forward the return (money well spent). If you don't want to waste time and money, skip it.

Wonderful historic buildings to admire while waking around a quiet place. There is art and a beer garden!

Just another fine example of a city center. The square is surrounded with interesting buildings, centered by a gorgeous church, fun art installations can be found as well. Appears the city really uses this space well for festival type events as well. Pilsen was great

What a beautiful square - the surrounding buildings are just gorgeous. Bonus: we were there on a Sunday in mid-July and it was absolutely deserted!!!! We have never seen a town square with only 2 other couples walking around in the middle of a sunny summer day. A world of difference from Prague!

An impressively-sized square for the size of the city. The town hall is exceptionally beautiful.
One of the nice things about the square is how easy it is to get to all the other interesting parts of the city- the brewery, some beautiful gardens, the Great Synagogue etc are all near.
I also thought it good that even the restaurants right by the square didn't seem to be trying to rip off tourists- always a nice sign!

Really nice Republic Sq with amazing Cathedral of St.Bartolomeo and golden fountains. There are lot of cafes and shop around. Do not miss the Municipal House right behind the cathedral.

So, I’m at the historical city centre of what seems to be a quite small centre!
Then there’s a corner, I pass it and am baffled with what lied beyond!
The Republic Square is to die for! The buildings are deliciously perfect, amazingly architecturally detailed, and the place is gigantic! In a side of the square an imposing cathedral! One could only feel small when looking at that imposing place! It is true that Pilsen was one of the three biggest cities of Bohemia, but one never gets what that potentially really means until one sees it with one’s own eyes! I imagined I passed more than a dozen times by this square and it was not a single time that I didn’t have to stop and take a photo, just because there was a marvellous detail that had escape me the time before!
Do not forget to go there, and at night, the simple but immensely clever illumination of some of the buildings will make you dream!

Because it is one of the largest medieval squares in the Czech Republic there are Cobble stones and that makes this great square with all the historical buildings extra interesting but unfortunately its not complete restored in historical glory, some buildings are 'modern' concrete & glass and that does Not fit as One together ! The shops are in-side sometimes more beautiful than the out-side even so the many restaurants around the square streets. A little park on the south with a fountain beautiful to rest of a long day walk (Smetanovy Sady) acces from the B, Smetany street, on the north a Beer museum in the west a Synagoge. Enjoy !
