Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely loved it here! The beach area was very clean and lovely (parking lot maybe not so much but that’s what shoes are for). The local vendors are super friendly and engaging.
There’s a vendor who rents umbrella and chairs for a few dollars who also tends the spotless out houses on the beach . Seriously, spotless. And him and his friends will treat you like family when you’re there .
The sangria guy (coconut truck) is really friendly and his sangria is delicious!
And food trucks generally show up if tourists are present so that’s a plus!
Overall one of the most beautiful places I’ve even seen in my life so far. Must experience for yourself

This was our favorite beach from our vacation and spent all day there. Spectacular views just be VERY careful in rock climbing easy to scrape or get hurt. Take snorkeling gear or a vendor there for you to purchase at slightly higher prices. Swimming, relaxing, tubing, snorkeling, all you could ever ask for with breathtaking views. Take an umbrella or arrive early to find a spot under tree but limited. Also, take drinks and snacks. For adults there was a vendor there selling homemade Sangria that was EXCELLENT and refreshing!

Our family (4 adults, 4 teens) loved exploring this beach. It's rocky and rough, so probably not great for small children. Wear water shoes with a good grip, especially if you want to climb the limestone rocks. It looked dangerous to me, but lots of people were doing it. Note that there are portable restrooms, but when we visited on a Monday they were padlocked shut. There were vendors selling pina coladas and snacks.

We loved this beach. It had great local food, the water was stunning and it was beautiful. I would wear shoes when walking t your beach spot as there is glass some time but that is because it is not kept up like public beaches. It was warm and beautiful

A very nice beach off the beaten path. The beach has an unmarked parking area. We went during the week so parking was not an issue; I would imagine on the weekends it may be a bit more complicated. Once at the beach you should have your own snacks and beverages because I did not see anyone or anywhere where you could get something to eat or drink.
The beach itself is nice, you need to bring your own chairs and umbrellas because they are only a few shaded spots. The beach has rocks and coral all around it, there is a small opening which allows water into the inlet. The water is crystal clean, you can see your toes when in it. Unfortunately the beach has many rocks which makes it difficult to walk in and swim. They have a few areas where you can walk in without having to navigate the rocks. The rocks are quite slippery so be careful if you decided to walk over them to get to a swimming spot. Overall it was a nice beach but not one of my favorites.

We hiked down to this beach from our rental. That was a mistake. The sand on this beach as with many beaches in Puerto Rico is very granular and your feet sink in about a foot and makes it difficult to walk. When we got to this beach, there were rip tide warnings and slippery rocks. However, there we many people here and a very few people in the water. Many people were climbing the rocks surrounding this place. There was, we learned afterwards, that we could have walked along the road to the beach instead the sand. We noticed that there was a large parking area and food trucks. Not being comfortable going into the water, we sat in the hot sun for only about an hour then returned to our rental.

Beautiful locals beach. I’d actually say this was almost a mixture of a beach and tide pool. We sat up on the rocks and watched the sunset. We got there about 2pm on a Saturday and it wasn’t very busy. I read reviews about a trash littered parking area but I didn’t notice any trash. I also read reviews about getting in the water and it being to rough to get in and out. I did notice that when getting in closer to the rocks it was allot steeper of a drop off. That made dealing with waves difficult. Entering from the center of the beach area it wasn’t difficult at all. Lastly if you go to the right of the rock formation there is actually a whole beach that was not utilized by anyone so we spent some time there too. I’d recommend anyone to come check it out. The locals I met were very nice as well. I didn’t see any dogs out there either.

Great day, great weather, beautiful beach. Wave motion tough at the edge but not bad further in. Find the entry spots without rocks for easiest wading into water. Kids had a great time @ the side tide pool. Beach was mostly clean. Some glass here and there.

We made a quick day trip from Aguadilla. The swim area was very cool. There was a big swell going on, so it made a big surge of water come through the opening. It was like a full on wave pool. Very fun to swim in. It would also be awesome to swim in when very calm, and the visibility would be better also.

We visited in Feb 2020. (after the earthquakes)
The "wave pool" is gorgeous but the waves were rough and I couldn't find any easy access (without bruising or scratching) in or out of the water. I would not take children here, and I will likely not return unless the water is known to be MUCH calmer. (I spend at least 5 hours a week in the ocean, exercising against the waves)
-There were latrines, but they were padlocked.
-There are long narrow tidal pools; not easy to get in or out of and there are sea urchins in the tidal pools. I don't like to disturb them but they are interesting.
-On the other side of the Punta, there's a sandy oceanfront beach that is gorgeous... but: The rocks on the waters edge looked slick and green, and I didn't see any surfers nor any beachgoers. (I posted a picture with my husband looking like buddah, see the shore behind him).
-We saw people on top of the rocks of the point ("La Punta"). It looked like they were high enough to not be hit by the waves or too slick to climb. I usually enjoy that type of climbing, and the pictures might be worth it, if you were in the area. I wouldn't make a special trip for it, when there are many similar Puntas with more desireable amenities. (ie Arecibo and Hatillo)
More on the wave pool: The water temps were fine and I wanted to take time to explore more of the area around the wave pool BUT. I was spent after fighting the waves to try to get out of the wave pool without serious damage. I couldn't find a surface to get in that wasn't flat sandpaper-rough rock, and once I was in the pool I was just fighting against the waves to avoid hitting all the jagged rocks under the surface. There are lots of places I've been in higher waves and had no trouble avoiding the rough rocks (Escambron comes to mind). This was not pretty. I wound up scratched and bruised.
Maybe it's the time of year? The waves were strong. The rocks, though fairly flat, are covered with plant growth below the water line and extremely slick to get a foothold getting out. Above the water line they are rougher than sand paper.
I wonder if the rocks were effected by the earthquakes? Were they covered by sand before? I'm surprised at how much some reviewers enjoyed this pool. Perhaps it is better in the summer months, when the waves should be calmer?
I would have loved this type of activity when I was younger (under 40) and more fit. My current regimen is spending at least 5 hours a week jogging against the waves in the ocean, but not in rocky areas.
I would NOT bring children here. There are much more accessible "wave pools" all over the shoreline. (I strongly suggest Hatillo and Arecibo)
