My wife and I hiked in the blazing heat from Kamares to Apollonia. It was very hilly, rocky, and often confusing which way to go next. We eventually found our way and enjoyed every sweaty minute of it and got some great pics. This was...More

Dear Kyle C, thank you for your comments! The trail you chose to hike is known through the old times as the "cursed" trail as it is a necessary difficult ascent to go from the port of Kamares to the capital, Apollonia. Unfortunately, at some...More

It was the hiking that appealed to us in deciding to visit Sifnos. And they do have nicely described trail markings at the trail heads. And lots of drop dead views of different churches on distant hilltops. But the bus service - at least in...More

We hiked with our 5 and 6 year old from Kastro to Chrisopigi. We started in the morning swimming at the Church of the 7 Martyrs. We stopped at lunch at Captain Sifakis and then hiked the donkey trail to the church stopping off at...More

Fantastically-well organised and marked-out trails across Sifnos. I've walked nearly all the trails, several of these many times on a recent holiday; they're the best way to see Sifnos and to 'commune with the island and its 'symphony of sounds and light'.

A must do activity. Amazing project. 100km of trecks mapped in this small and beautiful island. We did trail #6a (short but mean... ) gaining breathtaking views from the top; trail #9/9a through long stone walls and curious goats, finishing with the most spectacular beach...More

Best way to see Sifnos! It's super easy to find the path and you'll get to places you would not have found otherwise. We took trail 4, trail 2 and trail 1. We took trail 4 in 32 degrees (kind of too hot), but you...More

The network of trails is well-maintained and well-signed (generally - there are a few confusing intersections) with a variety of both lengths and difficulties available. It is also easy to link a few shorter trails together, perhaps broken up by a snack or lunch in...More

We walked with our baby in a backpack on one of the trails that led to Chrisopigi Monastery. The trail was easy to follow and not overly strenuous (no scrambling). The path wound through olive terraces and pretty deserted farmland/countryside. The monastery was a must-see,...More

Sifnos is an island for hikers. If you just want a short hike from Apollonia to the very interesting hamlet of Castro or you want a demanding hike, you will find both. We did both last October.
