We went to City Hall to see Amy Mcdonald. We have seen her before at the sage and have all of her CDs so we know she is fantastic. However the whole thing was a real let down. The lighting was dreadful very amateurish. The sound was worst we could only hear noise. None of the lovely lyrics were audible.... More

Me and my fiancé went to see Shaun klush who was doing Elvis. Our seating was great with a good view. Sound was good and the atmosphere was fab. Some staff were lovely the ones who wore red tops but some wearing black were grumpy. Also the toilet queue was miles long so I'd recommend going before the show. The... More

I have been here a couple of times for weddings and it has always been nice. The architecture of the building is really nice and is a pleasant building to be in. A good location for live bands and parties. If you have the money its a nice venue to book.

I have spent 4 days presenting training at this venue and have no complaints. The staff are helpful and friendly and always ready to lend a hand. The catering is plentiful and of a very high quality and the training facilities are of a good standard. The City Hall is currently being renovated, but we were never disturbed by construction... Got tickets to see Kevin bridges. Was initially really pleased with the size of the venue as it was small. However when I went to sit in the seat that's where it all went wrong. I am almost 6ft and there was no leg room, I was so squashed during the whole show I could enjoy it. Even my friend... More

Newcastle City Hall is a beautiful building across from Civic Park and next door to the council buildings. Unfortunately at the time I visited, the clock tower was under cover of a photo imprinted cover due to maintenance works. Best place to view is Civic Park at the top of the steps above the fountain.

Newcastle is a lovely local city which located approximately in the middle of New South Wales' coastline. Compare to Sydney, Newcastle is much smaller in scale, but slower in pace. A good destination for a leisure weekend. It is named after the coal city of Britain, not because there is a... More

This is one of Newcastle's grandest old buildings. Marble stone steps inside lead up to the main hall which can seat perhaps 400. There are also rooms underneath which can be used for conferences etc. It is beautiful venue for a wedding reception or ball. Across the road from civic park.

Visited Newcastle city hall while on our way from Sydney to Hunter Valley. The building is well maintained and have a strong heritage feel. Just opposite the the city hall there is a small park which you can take a panorama view to the entire city hall.
