    Best waterfall in the Otways
Beautiful Falls in the Otways. Well maintained steps (about 200) down to boardwalk and track. We went on a rainy day, and was popular spot so parked up above the track down to ensure safe parking due to a full parking area at the entrance to the track. The track was quite muddy in spots, and is quite steep for the return climb, so take your time and enjoy the surroundings and gorgeous waterfall

Come equipped on a rainy day
You cannot park with a trailer as there is only space for between 3 and 5 cars. To get down you need to walk a few steps. We went on a rainy day. The steps had mouchy mud. You just need to come equipped with good shoes and a raincoat. At the bottom you only find a plateforme, you cannot swim.

Hopetoun falls worth a quick stop
Beautiful falls. Well worth a visit. Wear proper walking shoes or trainers. We saw people in flip flops (thongs as they are called in Australia). The walk down to the bottom of the falls is worth it. Parking area is small (space for about 8 vehicles) but it is a short stop so people come and go quite quickly.

    Worth the visit!
It was our first stop on our 2 days trip to the Great Ocean road. It was an hour walk from the parking area. It was a nice view and worth the walk. We took some photos of course and just took our moment to enjoy the scenery. We got confused tho on our walk back as there were no sign on the exit or arrows to guide you - the trail was a bit of a mix up too. But we made it. Personally, it is Best to do the visit to the forest first then do the 12 apostles visit last.

Enjoyed our visit to the falls- much better to view from the base of the walk rather than from the top.
There are 200 steps, pretty steep and you need to have a modicum of fitness.
Not much of a viewing platform either at the top or the bottom, and when we visited there were a couple of people set up with tripods and photographic equipment taking up most of the space, which was unfortunate for anyone else who planned to sit for a while.
Minimal parking at the top and difficult to turn the car around to get out.
It sounds like I’m whining giving only 3 stars- the falls ARE lovely and walking through the ferns is amazing but do be prepared for it not being the back to nature experience you might expect.

A stunning and breathtaking waterfall and really gushing after so much rain. It is a steepish walk down and back up but so worth it. You see it from a platform to protect the area. It is a magic experience amongst the tall mountain ash and the unfolding reaching ferns.

Visited just after the massive downpour across Victoria and the falls were definitely flowing! Doesn't take long to walk down to the base platform but there are plenty of stairs, some quite steep, so prepare yourself for the way back up. If it has been raining in the area, it can get quite muddy on the path making it a bit slippery. Bit of a narrow road on the way in and out and a bit bumpy. Also, there are no toilets here - closet one is at the Redwood Forrest a few minutes away.

Was not disappointed by this waterfall, especially given the recent weather event, as there was plenty of water and it was flowing well. The hike to the base is about 10 minutes, but is very steep with a LOT of stairs that were extremely muddy during our visit, so please be careful! The exercise was worth it though, for you are rewarded with a beautiful view of the falls. Also be aware that the track to drive to the falls is a narrow, windy dirt track that was extremely bumpy in places - make sure your car is capable before driving there!

Lovely waterfall, step steps and a vigorous climb to return to the car . You have drive down a narrow dirt track and we were there when it was a bit muddy.

Worth a look see.

Now these falls are lovely but make sure you are fit as it is quite a walk down and an even harder walk up those steps. If you look closely once you are down by the falls, you may be lucky to spot a platypus. They were quite beautiful and even though you can’t get really close, as there is a platform, it is worth the hike.
