Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Falls and the nearby campsite are temporarily closed. Due to logging and construction in the area. There is a sign across the access road to the Falls saying the area will be closed until 1st June 2021

Oh my, stunning views. You walk down hill. We went on a rainy day. The floor was all mouchy. Just come well equipped with shoes and a raincoat. You not only get a lovely view from the platform but also from underneath. Just jump over a few rocks.

I am actually quite surprised at how unknown this particular waterfall seems to be. I have visited countless waterfalls throughout Victoria including the well known Mackenzie Falls and I have to say Beauchamp Falls in my opinion is unprecented and unbeatable!!
The walk is absolutely stunning! There is so much rainforest fallen logs river crossings and obstacles on this walk - it literally gives you the best experience a nature walk can give.
The walk is of medium difficulty, my preferred level of difficulty. When the walk is too easy you don't really feel rewarded with the waterfall because you don't really go through much to witness the beauty it has to offer and when the walk is too difficult you don't really wanna endure the walk again to see waterfall a second time because the walk was too hard. Anyway it's about an hour each each way very steep on the way back - but absolutely beautful!!
I was brave enough to jump below the viewing area to the bottom of the waterfall (there is no actual path - enter at your own risk). However, I felt that the viewing platform did no where near enough justice to the beauty if this waterfall.
Once I made my way down to the rocks on the opposite side of the pathway I was greeted with the most astonishing waterfall - the waterfall itself the bottom put of water the trees and rocks surrounding it honesty make this waterfall the most pleasing to the eye. Check my photo out which I uploaded. Gorgeous!!
Another reason I preferred this waterfall to Mackenzie falls is due to the lack of significant tourists!! ( okay so the lack of popularity is actually a good thing for this waterfall).
Mackenzie was so crowded it was difficult to walk about and take in the beauty of the fall not to mention the path to Mackenzie has become too 'modernised.' It doesn't have that natural rain forest walk feel to it anymore as it too popular and there has been too much human work to the track.
Seriously though the walk is beautiful and check my photo for the fall itself - my favourite in Victoria flowing heavily.
I find it weird how people who hae reviewed this fall seemed to have really liked it but not rated it higher due to strenuous walk - it's part of the experience that brings the beauty of Beauchamp out!!

Beuchamp falls is a beautiful waterfall which is well worth the walk. The walk takes roughly one and a half hours return and requires a moderate fotness level. If you have weak knee joints, i wouldn’t recommend it as the walk requires strong knees. The walk itself is well sign posted and the stairs are all well made and sturdy. The walk is mostly dirt tracks and occasional rocks. The car park is fairly large but from the car park to the main road is dirt road (about 5kms of dirt road)
There are toilets there and a picnic area. But there are no taps to wash hands and it's a composting drop toilet. The walk was worth it as the falls were breathtaking. I would recommend beuchamp falls if you've done the main Ocean Road previously.

Stayed at the free campsite because it was close to the redwood forest, decided to have a look around and found this walk. The walk was so much better than the redwoods! The detail put into the path is amazing! There's little paths off the track that are clearly set up for people to walk on and everything looks magical. It's not just a track cut through a forest, it's been deliberately planned to give a very aesthetic look and feeling of being in nature and exploration.
The walk is a perfect distance for anyone with even average fitness. I haven't done walks or anything particularly physical in a while and had no trouble. My partner has chronic fatigue and found the walk back quite tiring. My advice is to take your time to enjoy the walk if you are starting to feel tired.

"By channels of coolness, the echoes are calling,
And down the dim gorges I hear the creek falling:
It lives in the mountain, where moss and the sedges,
Touch with their beauty, the banks and the ledges."
.::Henry Kendall, 'Bellbirds' (1869)
---------
My first visit to Beauchamp Falls (pronounced bee-comp) was way back in the autumn of 1983, riding my bike from Colac to the small campground amongst neected pine plantations. Since that first journey of wide-eyed discovery, I have returned regularly to aim my cameras at a waterfall that has always evoked a great feeling peaceful tranquility.
Beauchamp once had two slender pieces of wood in the plunge pool (see the photo) leaning against the waterfall face. These were sadly interfered with by zealous tourists, thus ruining one of the things that had long given these falls character and interest.
The intrusive steel gantry was constructed to discourage visitors wandering off track into the river bed and slipping, with sometimes awful injuries. They still do this though, by finding their way off the track and up the creek (quite literally!) in order to swim in the frigid water at the base of the falls. If you are careful with your steps, no problem. But sprain an ankle (or break a leg!) down there among the slippery river rocks -- well, that is a big problem!
Beauchamp Falls is not within the Great Otway National Park, but within a narrow logging reservation: rainforest on the right as you walk down, logging/regrowth on the left.
Other than a serviced toilet block, no facilities exist at the very basic camping area. Certainly no water is here -- BYO. It can be extremely cold here in winter (snow occurs now and then at Beech Forest, another spectacle worth experiencing). In summer (often very busy), be wary of thundering 60-tonne log trucks on the unsealed roads. Broken windscreens and vehicle stone damage is common. Slow down and pull off the road and let them pass.
Yes it is a long walk down to the falls, and frankly, a bloody testing walk back up ("...are we nearly there yet!?"). Keep on the track if you don't want to become a juicy banquet for the legions of hungry leeches lying in wait amidst the verdant greenery! â—»

Very nice falls but a very long walk to see them. I would not recommended them if you don't have time. The walk is pretty but it is a couple of hours for the round trip. Usually plenty of water and if you are fit the walk is no problem.

Easy walk down to the falls and beautiful photo opportunities. Walk back is more challenging as is uphill most of the way

You can see why many people love exploring the Great Ocean Road, when there are so many stops along the way.
I can't remember how many waterfalls we actually visited, but each one had its own unique beauty, none of them should be missed off.
It's a shame that the most popular ones are so busy, yet the small ones like this are missed out by so many.
