Beautiful and quiet place with a good information point for tourists. However, the pedestrian paths in the forest are not ready for winter hikers! Some were like frozen lakes! I guess it's better to go here in the Summer time.
A beautiful National Park with trails leading all around the area, passing beautiful forests, leading alongside the river etc. There are many sites to explore such as Gutman´s cave, and the Turaida castle.

My wife and I recently visited this beautiful NP. It is in the Gauja River Valley, also known as little Switzerland. Well worth a visit in Latvia especially after being in the relatively flat lands that exist in most of Latvia.
Parking is charged within the Park so plan your visit with that in mind. Lovely extensive area containing many specific sites. Quite popular and busy. Good for walking or cycling or... any number of recreational activities
