Visited with two youngsters, they thoroughly enjoyed it, the guided tour was awesome and the grounds were well kept. Prob a bit in the pricey side, but totally understandable it would be an expensive place to keep.
My wife and I had thought of visiting Owlcatraz for many years, but kept putting it off because we hadn't expected to be anything special. But how wrong we were. It was an excellent visit that we both really enjoyed. We intend to revisit taking...More
We had a great afternoon here recently. the native owls , the ruru, are fantastic while the glow worm cave was a definite highlight. The best glow worm visit this side of Waitomo! There are rare pig breeds, too.

We stopped by here while travelling through to Rotorua. We had an amazing time, the staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable, and it was awesome how interactive the whole experience was! We will definitely be visiting again next time we're up this way!

We chose to visit on a day after there had been quite a lot of rain. We had read about Owlcatraz on their website - perhaps I should have checked TripAdvisor first.
Whilst the owner was friendly enough, we felt that we had been misinformed...More
Staff were friendly and helpful but we felt the tour group was too big, made difficult to hear, and went far too long. We didn't go to the glow worm cave and didn't even know about it until reading other reviews. We did go on...More
