What a fantastic experience. The whole facility is extremely well run, with ample car parking and a very organised feel throughout the visit. Like others, the suggested 3 hour visit length was in our opinion far too short, and we spent nearly 6 hours enjoying the experience at our own pace, with food and drink stops when appropriate; would definitely recommend an earlier visit slot to give you flexibility.
It was refreshing that the costs of photographs and memorabilia when in the experience were very reasonable, and there are lots of staff on-hand to guide and steer you.
The eateries at the 'half-way' point were most welcome and very efficient, although the queue for the Butterbeer Bar was immense! The main restaurant at the entrance / exit was also very good and again very efficient despite it being busy!
A 'must-do' for fans of Mr Potter, with so much to see, do and experience, and the fact it is so professionally delivered makes it all the better.

The tour is spectacular, as soon as you enter the door of the large dining room you cry with excitement. It's a long time to be able to walk around the stage where the movies were recorded. As a fan who grew up with books, it's been a unique thing. They give you a passport so that once inside you can look for curiosities and stamps to put (although I found out because I saw people with passports in their hands and I didn’t know why they hadn’t given it to me, I had to go and ask for it). The staff who work there is wonderful, they are a charmer and treat you great, they make the magic more real.
Now come some "buts" that I don't give the 5 stars for. The first is the time, when booking with bus transports, the return is closed and the time available to be inside is too little. My advice is to find out the transport part and in time to spend the whole day there. Because it’s all so crowded (even though I was on a Monday in November that it’s not exactly high season), it takes much longer to enjoy everything well and queue for some experiences.
Second drawback: I took the audio guide, it is super good and complete, but the battery does not last long enough and I was not warned that I could once inside request replacement, so half the tour I did without guide.
And finally, I don't recommend butter beer, or at least bottle beer... It is a carbonated drink and tastes quite rare and strong like some spice. It's not beer, it's not foamy, and it doesn't taste like butter or anything like that xD

1. The Cheapest Way to Visit:
The most cost-effective way to visit the Harry Potter Studios is by booking a ticket in advance on the official website, which costs only 51p for adults. You can easily reach Watford Station by train (or Overground), which is within the London zone and accepts payment through Oyster cards or your bank card. From the station, there is a free branded bus that takes you directly to the Studios. Avoid purchasing tours from resellers like GoldenTours, as they charge double or even higher prices.
2. When Tickets are Sold Out:
If tickets are sold out on the official website, there are still options available. Check the website multiple times a day, as people frequently return tickets, and you might find short-term availability. Additionally, you can use potterticket co uk for free. This service sends alerts when tickets for your desired dates become available. It's particularly useful if you're looking for tickets for the same/next day or the upcoming weekend since most cancellations occur during these periods.
3. HP Tour Passport and Souvenir:
Upon entrance, don't forget to grab a free HP Tour Passport, which allows you to collect stamps throughout the tour. It serves as a fantastic souvenir to commemorate your visit.
4. Dining Options:
There are several dining options available at the Studios. You'll find a cafe and restaurant at the entrance/exit, as well as a cafe in the middle of the tour. I would advise against trying the butter beer as it can be overly sweet and expensive (costs £6.5). Instead, opt for the delicious hot dogs. For those visiting with kids, there's a special meal box tailored for them.
5. Best Timing:
To make the most of your visit, I recommend arriving in the morning and allocating 3 hours for the first part before reaching the cafe. After a relaxing break at the cafe, you can spend another 3 hours exploring the second part of the tour.
6. Souvenir Shop:
If you happen to forget to buy something at the Studios' souvenir shop, don't worry! You can visit the smaller shop located at King's Cross Station near Platform 9 3/4.
Enjoy your tour and have a fantastic time!

We loved The Harry Potter Studio Tour, great studio sets and friendly staff interacting with the people taking the tour. We were there for a total of 5 1/2 hours and felt it was a great day out and good value for money as far as the tour was concerned. We drove there, parking was easy and free which was a pleasant surprise. We went on a Friday and arrived at 11.30am, we were admitted immediately for a 12pm tour start time, there was only a small queue to enter the start of the tour. It appeared to be efficiently run with friendly informative staff. We had a quick coffee and sandwich in the Starbucks coffee shop as we entered the building. It was quite expensive, the sandwich had hardly any filling so wasn't good value for money.
This seemed to be the theme of the day as far as food & drinks was concerned. We went to one of the cafe's (near the outside area), it was clean and there was plenty of seating, it was very much like a McDonald's only not as nearly good and much more expensive!!!! (we are not particularly McD fans). Sadly all 3 of our meals were DIRE 😝, the 3 burgers were cold, tasteless (beef & chicken options), the chips were also cold & rubbery. The coke was flat tasting and £3.65 for a small coke was a rip-off! My son enjoyed the Butter beer drink, however the price £7.45 was extortionate for a gimiky drink in a tiny plastic memento cup ( you can do butter Warner Bros!!!! ) 😏 When we went to the condiment station, the ketchup dispenser was almost empty, we squeezed out a tiny drop (see pic). So in conclusion would recommend you "Do Not" buy the Food, it is very Expensive and frankly inedible, we felt very let down by the quality, lack of choice, taste and cost 👎👎👎👎 However please don't let it turn you off the tour which we felt was really good, enjoyable and good value - just remember to take your own food/drinks & snacks and save your hard earned cash!!!! Finally, we wanted to have a memento of the day and chose to have a family picture poster (£20), however was dismayed to see better quality & more authentic posters for (£4) in the gift shop..... Disappointing, could they not produce something of a similar quality with your photo on🙁

One star only because of the terrible shuttle experience from Watford Junction and back. We had reserved tickets for a normal Thursday afternoon with the tour starting at 4pm. We arrived by train at Watford Junction at about 2:30pm and the line waiting for the Harry Potter shuttles didn't look long. There was light rain and no roof for waiting passengers which is ridiculous given how much money Warner Brothers make with the studio tour. Unfortunately it turned out that there were only two (2!) Harry Potter busses running the short 15 minutes drive to the studios and we had to wait for 1.5 hours to get into one of them. In the end we made it to the tour start at 4:15pm! The studio itself is fantastic if you like Harry Potter and enough other people have commented on what you can see there and have posted pictures. Coming out of the studio we found out that the line for the shuttle going back to Watford Junction was double what it was at Watford Junction, so we estimated a waiting time of at least 2.5 hours, so took a taxi instead. There were still only two shuttles running. Of course there was no roof at the studio against rain for the waiting passengers, either. Dear Warner Brothers - this shuttle experience is a shame considering you advertise the shuttle from Watford Junction as the best way to get to the studios from London! I'm sure you have more than a hundred employees selling green screen broom rides and merchandise so how about hiring another 4 bus drivers and busses to provide the experience you aim for?

We were on the Studio Tours at the beginning of October and we really enjoyed it!
The journey from London Euston to Wartford Junction was easy with an express train in 15 minutes, from there we took the shuttle bus to the studios. There was a contact person at the station who made sure that everyone was in line and could board in a relaxed manner. There was no line on the tour itself, we were there right when it opened, or just after 10:00. So we were able to walk straight through to the films that were shown before the tour. The program then began in the Great Hall, as we were there at the Dark Arts/Death Eater time. There was Halloween decorations everywhere and the food on the tables was also themed accordingly. In the 6 hours that we spent on the tour there was nothing we didn't like. Even my partner, who is a 'non' Potter-head, really liked it and we enjoyed our stay. There was a lot of background information, making-of stories and you got the feeling that everyone who worked on these films lived and loved it. An absolute recommendation for all Harry Potter fans! The prices in the shops are (in my opinion) very high, we only bought small items. However, the distribution of these during and after the exhibition was done well. We also felt that the crowds were well distributed, there were no very long queues anywhere. I will definitely come back, but this time at a different time of year!

Had a great time on this tour. I would highly recommend for all Harry Potter fans (from superfans to anyone just interested). The sets and artistry were truly incredible and would be interesting for anyone to explore. The tour is really well done and good value for money. I will warn you that the gift store and cafe are expensive with long queues so bring a snack and drink bottle just in case. It took us 4 hours to go through the full tour - we went at what I think would be an average pace. With travel time added expect this to take up most of your day. There are buses every 15-30 minutes to and from the train station. We had to miss one at the end of the day as it was full so prepare for this too. Also remember to bring an umbrella/raincoat as there is an outside section on the tour and little rain coverage outside if you're waiting for a bus to the station. I had an audio guide on the tour which was a 'nice to have' but would be fine without. The staff were very helpful and enthusiastic. Highly recommend!

Wonderful experience, I went with my daughter and my wife on December 24 when there was the Christmas theme and it was really magical, I recommend this experience to all children and adults. You can get some audio guides that cost £5 but for groups of three you spend a total of £13. The prices are slightly high but otherwise London is very expensive, my daughter bought a sweater, a scarf and some gifts for her friends.
We ate at the restaurant which is halfway through the route, slightly expensive but very good (a sandwich with chips costs on average 12/13£), we especially appreciated the beer beer (7.50£) really special!!
In conclusion, I think this place deserves all the money spent it was really exceptional and the staff was very kind and welcoming.

I have been visiting the studio for about the last 10 years and have always had a great experience. However, after visiting last December I have to say I was very disappointed. My first complaint is the lack of response from customer service since my visit. I emailed to let them know that waiting for 45 minutes for food in their Backlot cafe is totally unacceptable - no response, only a holding email, emailed again, same thing. The tour itself was so much busier than normal - and we usually go around the same time at Christmas so it was clear they had sold too many tickets. When arriving at the studios the scanning machine to scan tickets wasn't working so we were stuck outside, when queuing to actually get into the tour the queue was back to the entrance - not a great start. There were a few new additions to 'J' in the tour which were great but we made the mistake of having lunch in the Backlot cafe. This cafe has actually expanded since last year so I thought great it will be a fast service - how wrong I was - I left my two teenage children in the restaurant and then queued firstly to place my order and then again to receive it. This took 45 minutes - not acceptable. My order wasn't done in numerical order and it appeared on the screen as being ready but then disappeared - I had to ask what was going on and was told 'not sure what happened to it, I will do it again' - the staff were not equipped to deal with the volume, they are all young people and it was unfair on them that they had no direction or support. So very disappointed in Warner Brothers and will be contacting their head office for a reason as to why I have received no response to an email that was sent on the 23rd December. This is an expensive day out and quite frankly was ruined by the amount of people and the incredibly poor food delivery, the food wasn't that great even after all the wait!

My sister and I visited on Wednesday 8th January 2025 and had booked for 11am. This was our second time visiting the Studio Tour (the last visit was 2016) and there are so many incredible additions since then! The main difference between our two visits was this was during 'Hogwarts In The Snow' which is so incredibly magical and I would definitely recommend especially if you've never visited during the festive period!
When we arrived we were greeted with very friendly staff who welcomed us as we scanned our tickets and made our way inside. We arrived early so had a look around the gift shop which was incredible and very well stocked. There are audio guides available to purchase which we did and I would recommend but the headphones are rather uncomfortable so I'd suggest you take your own! As we were early and there wasn't a queue we were able to start the tour straight away which was great! There was a very friendly staff member showing us where to go before waiting in front of the doors where yet more friendly staff were there to help. When we were let through the doors we were greeted by a wonderful member of staff called Eoin who was so knowledgeable and did a fantastic job introducing us into the Great Hall. Once you pass through there you are free to do the tour at your own pace which I absolutely loved. I didn't feel rushed at all and we were able to spend as much time on whatever we wanted. Throughout the tour there are plenty of staff members around to help you or answer any questions you may have. Every single one of them were super friendly, approachable and so knowledgable. There are multiple demonstrations and talks across all the different areas and they're very interesting so definitely stop and watch! There's a shop at Platform 9 & 3/4 that sells things you can't buy at the main gift shop so make sure to have a look.
We made a stop off at the Backlot cafe which had plenty of seating available and the food on offer is good although pretty pricey but that's to be expected. Our food was hot when we got it and again you can't fault the staff! The whole experience from ordering to collecting was very well organised. There were plenty of colleagues around cleaning tables too so you were able to get a clean table pretty quickly.
Once we had finished the tour we headed back into the gift shop and purchased a few items all of which were available and all of the clothing had plenty of sizes! I've never known a gift shop to look so tidy and full despite the fact it was so busy at the end of the tour!
Overall I would 100% recommend the Studio Tour especially if you've never been! I couldn't fault my trip at all and I will definitely be going again! The staff members made the whole experience so enjoyable and an all round good day out so thank you all for being so wonderful!

Overall I would 100% recommend the Studio Tour especially if you've never been! I couldn't fault my trip at all and I will definitely be going again! The staff members made the whole experience so enjoyable and an all round good day out so thank you all for being so wonderful!

Hello! I was wondering if they checked ID cards, passports or student's cards of children at studios? The child is currently 15 but the day before the visit of studios, she turns 16. Is it fine if we buy the tickets for her as a child? A lot of saved money in our case.... :)

There is a bit of waiting around, but you will need to be on time for the entry time

I booked an adult ticket, but unfortunately, the said adult can’t make it. Can I take a child on that adult ticket with me?
