Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The team at Dive Quest led by Chris is one of the best Dive centres we have experienced. Very relaxed atmosphere yet always conscious for the safety of their guests. Diverse Marine life is always on offer around the Solitary Islands with pristine reefs, large anemone gardens filled with their inhabitants and rocky underwater terrain make interesting dives. Thanks again Chris, John, Gary and Adam for another enjoyable trip. Cheers Mike and Sue

We had an amazing time all around with this trip, not only were the conditions and location among the best dives the group has done in NSW, but the crew was amazing. Chris was a pleasure to work with an was super helpful in organizing the trip, and Gary and John were absolute legends on the trip itself. Highly recommend this to everyone, have consistently been talking about it and will most definitely return! Thanks guys!

We first went to dive on North West Solitary but Chris the dive shop owner said that the waters here looked too green and estimated the viz to be less than 10m, therefore he suggested we should go onto the next island North Solitary, we all went along with it and hence we travelled another 40 minutes to the next island.

We all donned on our gear and the dive master Gary gave us a spiel on the dive site and when into the water which was 20m plus viz. The terrain was covered in anemones which were 1 or 2 clown fish, there were parrot fish of varies colours, an abundant of sea life. worth the trip,

A glorious day of diving with John and Stephanie from Divequest. Stephanie is a wonderful guide to the underwater treasures at these sites, and gave me lots of great advice re. buoyancy etc as I'm not a very experienced diver. Stunning dive site, beautiful colors, lots of anemone fish, wobbegongs, and all sorts of other fish I can't name! We had a fantastic day and would heartily recommend this company.

We dived with dive quest for three days. All my dealings with Chris were easy. Good communication about the weather was delivered to me and when we were likely to dive. Stephanie John and Gary are informative wonderful dive guides and very helpful The sea is their second home I think. John the boat driver is a great boat driver. The dives are spectacular. Lots of grey nurses turtles cowries tuna and schools of surgeon to name a few. We even saw a wobbegong (there are lots of tHem) eating a Crested Thorn Shark ( poor fella). We are coming back n December next year. Tina and Brian

Had a great time with Dive Quest for a week. No request was too much trouble and the boats were professionally run. Thank you to the team!

Dive quest is a company with integrity. We were surprised to find ourselves the only divers on the trip and when we expressed our surprise we we told, " you've made the booking so we're going diving" a pleasant change from other experiences where dives are cancelled or surcharges added when a minimum no hasn't been achieved. On two of the three days there was just Russ and myself but we were still taken to the best dive sites, weather permitting, and not the closest. Thank you John, Gary and Stephanie for some great guiding. Had close encounters with Grey nurse sharks, turtle, crayfish, Wobbegongs, vast anemone beds, lovely coral, huge Queensland grouper, sting rays clouds of thousands of yellow bullseye, lion fish, scorpion fish, toad fish and an abundance of other fish life. At no time did we have to hurry, our dives could long as our air and could be over an hour😀.Lucky enough to spot whales each day. So exciting👍 Boats were in survey, good fills on tanks. Great communication from Christo as to weather. Thanks to everyone for a great holiday of diving. First of many, I'm sure!

Chris was an absolute pleasure to deal with from the very beginning. Regular communication regarding the weather, swell and chance of getting out on the boat when the weather wasn't looking the best, was hugely appreciated as I was travelling over four hours to dive. It also must be noted that Dive Quest is rebreather friendly.
After a friendly greeting from Chris and John (our skipper for the day), we proceeded to load the boat and make our way out to the dive site. We initially stopped at NW solitary island, but due to the choppy swell it was decided that anemone bay would be more pleasant for the divers and snorkelers aboard.
The first dive presented us with no less than 10 grey nurse sharks, turtles and huge numbers of parrot fish, clown fish etc.
the second dive was no less exciting with a repeat of the phenomenal fish life and this time possibly the largest octopus I have ever seen. The last highlight of the trip came as we spotted a whale on our return. John expertly stopped the boat approximately 200 metres from where we saw the whale initially and we were lucky enough to have the whale approach and put on an amazing show. It is very clear that the marine reserve in the solitary island area is having a profound effect on the ecosystem.
It was well worth the drive from Coffs Harbour (hotel) to dive with Dive Quest and I most definitely will be returning to dive with them in the future.
