Don’t expect a spectacular large tower on the contrary. However this relatively tiny St. Sebastian minaret is interesting to visit because of its old age and unique design. Also it is east to find and takes very little time (and no costs).

A great example of what has happened throughout history -- once a minaret, now transformed into a Christian monument.

unless you knew it was a minaret you would never have guessed it. You will probably pass this in your wanderings about the old town which is fine but not worth going out of your way to see it as you cannot go in it.

This little gem shows how the history of Ronda has developed over the centuries. We were unable to go inside. Small but interesting bit of history discovered on our walk round Ronda

Formerly a small tower belonging to one of the mosques in Ronda (built in the 14th century), a 3rd level was added and used as a bell tower. Interesting. Historical. Free to see.

Pictureque old tower, left over from 14th century mosque, long ago appropriated by the Christians and baptised as San Sebastian's Minaret. Bumped into it delightfully while walking down the street from the old Puente Nuevo.

Ronda is a lovely town to walk around but wear shoes with thick soles for comfort as the pavements and roads are beautifully cobbled. There is evidence of its Moorish past all around.
