- miroslava r2 contributionsGreat trip in Peru!We arranged a trip across Peru. The services and behavior of Johselm were great, we can only recommend. Authentic experiences, if operative adaptation to our needs and wishes was necessary... an approach that you would not have a chance to get in a group tour with a travel agency from the home country. We enjoyed it very much and will recommend it to our friends.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 12 November 2023
- RuthyGlasgow862 contributionsAmazing place on the planetI just loved the the car journey of our private tour over the altiplano to Colca Valley. Getting to the highest point of up to around 13,000 feet above sea level having to take coca tea, coca candies and aspirin to help alleviate the altitude sickness! Then going down into the Colca Valley to the Colca Canyon and the lovely villages of Chivay, Maca, Yanque and others. En route to the Colca Lodge with its own hot springs. Full day of fabulous scenery and seeing the vicunas, llamas and alpacas, wonderful. Looking forward to going to the Condor viewpoint to see the amazing condors!Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 June 2024
- Nancy M1 contributionGreat 2-day trip to Colca CanyonMy husband and I did a 2-day trip to Colca Canyon with a stay at Colca Lodge. The canyon and the lodge were magical, but our guide, Ivan, and driver, Juan Carlos, made the trip even better. Ivan was very knowledgeable about everything from traditional Peruvian culture to local flora and fauna. Juan Carlos made a long drive very pleasant. Booking the trip was very easy. I highly recommend Perou Voyage.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 June 2024
- PAT BOONE1 contributionTerra Quechua Peru made this experience uniquevisiting the Colca Canyon with my partner was an awesome experience. The particularity of the route compared to others added a touch of romance to our trip. The travel agency Terra Quechua Peru provided us with a fantastic guide who taught us about the history and culture of the place. Watching the flight of the condors was a magical moment for all of us. The agency took care of all the logistical details, including transportation and entrance fees to the tourist sites. We also enjoyed a comfortable stay in a charming hotel, all organized by the agency. Very grateful for the excellent service and personalized attention we received throughout the trip.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 July 2024
- Claude BP1 contributionThe service and attention to detail on the Colca Canyon TourTerra Quechua Peru provided us with an enriching experience that perfectly combined history, culture and nature in the 2-day Colca Canyon. From the start, your professionalism and attention to detail were exceptional. We enjoyed breathtaking scenery, including the Condor Viewpoint, where we saw these majestic birds in their natural habitat. We spent the night in a cosy lodge and ended the trip relaxing in the hot springs. We highly recommend Terra Quechua Peru for exploring the Colca Canyon.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 August 2024
- Traveller162014Leeds, United Kingdom1,730 contributionsAmazing dayWe had a fantastic day here. We just did the 1 day tour but saw lots. We had a traditional Andean breakfast, stopped in Maca village, had a short walk and saw condors fly past quite close, had cusco sours with a view, went to the hot springs, had a buffet lunch, went to the highest point with a view of 7 volcanoes and saw lots and lots of alpacas and llamas and such roaming in the wild. Worth a visit if you are in Arequipa, it is so beautiful and atmospheric. We booked though Baby Lamas tour company.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 August 2024
- LIAM P1 contributionFantastic experience with Terra Quechu Peru! The 2 day Colca Canyon tour with Terra Quechua Peru went perfectly, with excellent organization. From the punctual pick up at our hotel to the detailed explanations of our guide Jimi, everything was perfect. The Condor Viewpoint was breathtaking and seeing these majestic birds in their natural habitat was unforgettable. In addition, the stops in the local villages added a special touch. We loved the opportunity to interact with the locals and learn about their traditions and customs. Highly recommended!Visited August 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 27 August 2024

The first day, we enjoyed a scenic drive to Chivay, with stops at incredible viewpoints and charming villages. Bathing in the hot springs was an absolute pleasure. On the second day, the visit to the Mirador de los Condores was the highlight, watching these impressive birds flying over the canyon was unforgettable. We also really appreciated the explanations about the local history and culture that Pedro shared with us, a tour not to be missed!Visited September 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 12 September 2024

This review should be a 5*. The Colca Canyon by motorcycle was fantastic. Abra Patapampa is one of the highest mountain passes in the world (elevation of 4.910m - 16,110ft) on the way to Chivay from Aqrequipa. It can be a risk for snow so plan to arrive early (we had 1 hour of snow because we arrived late from Puno). The road from Chivay-Huambo is amazing and well paved. The rest of the way to Majes is rough but very ride-able. The weather was sunny and mild.
PeruMotors Motorcycle Arequipa rental experience was not good. I over paid $500 for the rental in error and it took over a month denials before they agreed to give anything but it was less than half back. Bike was good but I wouldn't trust them.

The two day Colca trekl was full of breathtaking views and history! The first day, the guides picked us up from our hotel in Arequipa. They drove us straight to the head of the trail and he make sure the bags was securely stored for when we got back to Arequipa. The package included our guide, lunch the first day (prepared by cooks set up in tents in the mountain), bus tickets to and from Arequipa and Cabanaconde, a hotel for the night in the Valley.
Our guide had incredible knowledge as to the ancient culture and the area. He had answers to every question the group asked.
I definitely recommend to hike on this trek!

We thought the Colca Canyon was beautiful, and seeing the condors was extra special. However, we used Peru Andes Tour (part of Peru Hop) and that experience was mostly eh. The included breakfast at Misti Wasi was just barely ok. The drive along the canyon and the short hike we did were great. Lunch at Misti Wasi was not included and was so over-priced for the quality of food. We should have packed a lunch and just eaten by the bus outside while the others paid for mediocre food. The staff wasn't very friendly and there was an extremely awkward exchange over chicha that was not included in the lunch, but was being pushed heavily at the table. The stops for the hot springs and zip lining (where you had to pay additional fees) were just ok. No other options if you didn't want to participate in those other than just sitting outside the bus.

The Colca Canyon is an incredible part of the world. We wanted to experience nature and culture without crowds of tourists so we hired a private guide for 4 days - Andres Calcina. Andres has good English and we planned the trip together by email, not really sure what to expect. We learnt that we could trust Andres! We were safe and comfortable in our private van with our excellent driver Joel. We had a magical time, Andres took us on hikes, we drove to isolated villages, stopped to photograph volcanoes and vicunas, saw a dozen condors with no-one else around, ate delicious meals and even went dancing together. Andres is so kind and knowledgeable, happy to answer questions and knows so many interesting places off the beaten track. Than you Andres, we are so lucky we met you.

From Chivay, sometimes difficult road. If you have your car, leave it at the hotel and use an agency or a private taxi. Really dangerous road in places. We first cross two eminently tourist villages since they are on the road which attracts hundreds of tourists per day. Obligatory stop. Llamas with sunglasses and a hat, for a paid natural photo (Llamas with glasses are common) Then several Miradors on the path which allow pretty photos of sumptuous landscapes. About 10km from the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, there is a toll: 70 soles per person. Condors become luxury birds of prey. It's up to you whether you join Condorland or not.

The Colca Canyon was fantastic!
BUT Peru Andes Tour operator booked via Find Local Trips wasn't so great. The whole day started at 3am and didnt finish till 7pm but only allowed us 40 minutes in the actual canyon!! The rest of the trip was filled with stops to traditional villages and areas to buy cultural gifts - which I usually like but very felt very staged for tourists/unauthentic.
The 1 hour spent in the hot springs was also very good.

I did the 1 day trip to Colca Canyon with Peru Andes. The scenery is amazing and definitely worth seeing. Our guide was also very nice, spoke perfect English, informative and kept us to time. However, there were a few issues which kind of spoiled the day. The first issue is I paid over twice the price of what others on the tour had paid. I booked online, they booked through their hostel which was considerably cheaper for the exact same experience. The bus was so uncomfortable. In the morning, it was freezing despite being given blankets. There was no leg room or space to store your bag or charge your phone. Considering how much time you spend on the bus it really should be comfortable. A lot of the stops are just to get you to spend money on souvenirs. The hot springs stop was a little disappointing as it was overcrowded. When I booked the drop off was meant to be back at your hotel - and was written as such on the confirmation email. However, drop off was a 25min walk from my accommodation which at the end of a long day isn’t ideal. I enjoyed seeing Colca Valley and Canyon and the condors but the day could have been a lot better.

I don't believe pictures capture the jaw-dropping beauty and scale of this mystical place. The colourful tiered terraces or 'andenes' hugging the hills against the backdrop of the Andean mountain range, the condors circling up from the deep rushing river valley.. everything left me in complete awe. I was here 3+ years ago and it is still something I think about to this day. We also met locals wearing indigenous dresses in Yanque. Everyone was so friendly here. There are very few places I would consider returning before I die - this is one of them.

I had a wonderful 3-day trip to the Colca Canyon with our guide Dalila. She knew a lot about the surroundings, medicinal plants and history of the Colca Canyon. She would always check if everyone was doing okay and had personal attention for all of us. Because I did the 3-day tour, there was plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The food included was very nice, especially the guacamole! I would highly recommend a tour with Dalila and Peru Andes!

Our trip to Colca Canyon was simply spectacular. From the beginning, we hired the services of Terra Quechua Peru, and it was the best decision we could have made. From the organization of the trip to the small details, everything was perfectly coordinated. We travelled as a family and the experience was amazing; my children were delighted by the scenery, the condors flying over it. Our Guide was very attentive and knew perfectly the history and culture of the place, which made the trip even more enriching. I fully recommend this agency for anyone who wants to live an unforgettable experience in Colca Canyon.

Grazie a tutti!
