My wife and I visited this park recently to enjoy walking for exercise, the scenery and see Kangaroos in the wild. We were here on a Tuesday afternoon when there were very few people around. Plenty of car parking spots.

This Park offers over 120 hectares of recreational and environmental parkland perfect for picnicking, cycling, canoeing, jogging and walking.

The Westerfolds Loop Track (4.8km circuit) is a gentle walk through the parklands, past the old Manor Mansion, woodlands and native shrub-lands. We saw 12 Kangaroos in separate groups and a variety of birds during our walk.

This is lovely, expansive area of natural bushland located on a big bend in the Yarra River about 20 km from downtown Melbourne. With lots of wildlife including many kangaroos, is a fantastic spot to enjoy nature with creature comforts still within easy reach. We saw a big mob of 50+ kangaroos lounging around under some trees and grazing in a nearby paddock as we walked along the Main Yarra trail. There are good picnic and barbecue facilties, making the park a great venue for families. Some nice close-up views of the Yarra River are to be had too. The circuit path around the park is an easy walk, it is paved and takes a bit less than an hour to walk

I can’t imagine how anyone can justify less than 5 stars for this Victorian gem. I moved about a block from the park a year and a half ago and it took me almost a year to completely explore it. Westerfolds Park has over 150 acres of stunningly beautiful parkland where kangaroos are seen pretty much daily. I’ve also seen wombats, kookaburras, all kinds of cockatoos, rainbow lorikeets, and some people have seen koalas there.

The park has both paved and I paved trails and the Yarra river runs through many parts of it. It has a couple of picnic areas but lots of places to stop and take in the beauty of it.

I moved here from the USA and wish I knew about this well kept secret when I was a tourist. The park is only a 15-20 minute drive from the Melbourne CBD. The city is close but so far away. I feel so fortunate to have access to such a beautiful piece of Australians.

Great park for kids to run and build. Lots of fallen branches which make excellent cubby houses to play in. Nice place for a walk, picnic or relaxing jog. Saw kangaroos and different birds... wombat poo but no wombat seen that day!
In school holidays there is a forest school program which is great fun (Eco Explorers run it).
Lots of different parking areas and walking tracks!

This park situated on the Yarra River is a large area of several hundred acres. You can see many bird species of
Cockatoo, eagles, hawks, magpies, rosellas and egrets.
There are also kangaroos, wallabies, possums, echidnas,
wombats and fruit bats.
It’s a lovely lace to just wander about or walk the many paths or cycle through the tracks. There are also many
tree species, wildflowers and grasses and if you are lucky,
you may even spot a platypus in the river.

Just off Fitzsimmons Lane Westerfolds Park offers some tranquility from the hustle and bustle. A large park with many different parking areas (some are cordoned off at the moment), a children's play area and the river to canoe or walk along. The park offers walking tracks and a peaceful picnic area. I saw a few kangaroos on my visit and I'm sure if I'd had more time to explore I'd have seen other wildlife.

Brilliant walking or cycling spot in all weather. Love going through the areas with small paths away from the big playgrounds and BBQ areas, as very peaceful. Walking can be very gentle paths or do some small inclines if you prefer.

Pretty scenery. Flora and Fauna. Amenities available. Walking tracks. Why not join the 5km Park Run held each Saturday morning at 8am.

Went with family. Great trails beside the yarra river. With plenty of rain, it was flowing nicely. If you are lucky, you see some wildlife like rosellas and roos. Great parking.

Excellent walking path.
Can see kangaroos if you are lucky.
Playground for kids on the fitzsimmons road side.
path can extend in to the city.
Can be isolated in parts, so would recommend a walking partner if that bothers you.
