- ButlerExpressAdelaide, Australia8 contributionsHidden Gem..Found this little hidden gem about 15 mins from Pt Douglas. We didn't do the farm tour but had the best coffee and savoury muffins here. They do the freshest sandwiches/pies/amazing muffins/light lunches (not at Pt Douglas prices!!) Cafe and patio were spotlessly clean. Staff were lovely and no pressure to do tour or buy their amazing chocolate. Had we found this earlier on holiday, we would have returned for lunch at some stage. Website directions were so easy to follow. Would highly recommend.Visited July 2023Written 28 July 2023
- Reigatemum21 contributionsHidden gemA last minute decision to visit after picking up a leaflet in Daintree. Got there just before they were due to close and they couldn’t have been more welcoming, allowing us to order some drinks and buy chocolate! The garden is beautiful and the mountain setting is stunning. Our drinks, cake and chocolate were all delicious. Would love to go back and do the tour but we are sadly out of time on our holiday.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 26 August 2023
- Becky11Christchurch, New Zealand3 contributionsDecadent delightsA wonderfully, fascinating experience- Jenny was warm and patient in answering all our questions. We were all enthralled- from 11 years to adulting… and in between. The chocolate was absolutely decadent and sad we can’t purchase beyond. But a treat to be had while we were there and a taste to remember. Thank you.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 5 October 2023
- lydiagardnerCairns, Australia2 contributionsChocolate-Lovers ParadiseOur tour of the chocolate farm was outstanding. We arrived early and treated ourselves to the homemade scones with jam and cream - delicious! Then the owner Jenny showed us around the farm, which was fascinating. The cocoa plant is truly unique and it was so enlightening to learn about the farming and processing of this wonder-plant. The chocolate tasting was a highlight, of course. It's obvious they are deserving of their many international awards in the chocolate world. The whole environment was peaceful and pleasant, and I would recommend it as a spot for just relaxing and having a coffee or bite to eat. Definitely do the tour if you have time, though. 10/10 recommend.Visited September 2023Travelled on businessWritten 29 October 2023

Don’t miss the Australian Chocolate Farm if you’re anywhere in the Port Douglas/Mossman area. Darryl & Jenny have created a sanctuary in the most beautiful surroundings – cocoa trees & brightly coloured native plants in immaculate grounds, set against a backdrop of rainforest and mountains. Their cocoa plantation was started from scratch in 2000, and the café and bean-to-chocolate tours opened only two months ago in June 2023.
Darryl & Jenny are both chefs, which showed in our beautifully presented and delicious lunch: savoury muffin, pumpkin & feta tart followed by lemon myrtle brulee & chocolate wattle seed panna cotta. Yumm! Jenny’s bean-to-bar tour was a fascinating insight into the (very) long road from initial plantings through harvesting and processing to the chocolate we tasted at the end of the tour. Only 20 minutes from Port Douglas, go there if there’s any way you can!
