I only saw the castle from the outside. The location is great and the whole surrounding area is very manicured.

This was described to us as a castle - it is a fort. It is nice to view and photograph from the river but not really much here to see.

This was a stop on our tour of the Rio Dulce on the way to Villa Caribe in Livingston that was plan for us by Anywhere Guatemala Agency. We spent about an hour here. Lovely National Park. Built in 1600's . Good photo ops.

We hired a van from the cruise port to the castle. The road to castle is two lane highway with a lot of pot holes limiting the speed of the vehicle. The road has very heavy traffic in and around the port area and half...More

This was an interesting historical site. It has been rebuilt several times. Castillo is at the narrowest part of the Rio Dulce. It has some of the original cannons. Fort protected San Antonio.
