An incredible day Canyoning and right up there with my previous Canyoning in the Blue Mountains. They are a bit disorganised at the start but once you start self guiding yourself in the adventure begins. A combination of wading, swimming, dragging yourself through the current by ropes, slithering up ladders and, on the return trip, sliding down rockfaces... it was amazing. We were in a largish group so be prepared to help each other as there were only two staff members actually inside the Canyon in tricky ascent/descent nooks. A reasonable level of fitness and upper body strength certainly helps, but if you are feeling adventurous and have support with you, this should be high on your bucket list. Waterproof grippy shoes are a must. Water was warm in April so we were mostly in normal swim gear. A must do while in Jordan.

We arrived early but still had to wait some time to start and the queue system was vague and confusing! Life jackets were in poor repair but serviceable. They seem to limit the number of people in the canyon by the number of lifejackets so you may also have to wait for one. The trail itself was amazing, with beautiful views and truly exhilarating climbs and descents over rocks through fast moving water (Oct). There were ladders and ropes but not always very stable. Only do this if you are confident, fairly fit, nimble and can swim (you don’t need to swim but would feel vulnerable if you couldn't). We didn't take anything with us and were glad to have hands free. No lockers but left car keys at the desk. In summary, a must but not for everyone!

Beautiful experience, a fascinating canyon. Organization not impeccable, we were not told how to tackle the canyon. We were only given a life jacket, but not a helmet. The place is definitely worth a visit because the natural scenery is truly evocative. I recommend bringing suitable shoes, such as those used for rocks.

As I couldn’t find much about this online I will start by saying you need to be fit and able. This experience involves some swimming in strong currents, climbing ropes across wet rocks and climbing ladders. Extremely fun but make sure you’re wearing grippy water shoes and leggings/ long sleeves to help avoid any scratches etc. a waterproof phone case too so you can take pictures along the way (with a strap to keep around your neck)

The experience itself was amazing, you start walking through ankle high water and enjoying the canyon around you. This gradually gets more tricky as the water rises and parts involves swimming but there are always ropes to help you if you need.
The trial takes some time as your waiting for others ahead or people coming back. It ends with a big waterfall you can swim behind and the way back is more more fun as it includes a couple of slides and the current carries you along so you can just relax and float back for parts.

The only improvements I can see are regarding safety. The life jackets are in poor repair and need replacing. There are no helmets which for this kind of activity is very bad. It’s so easy to slip and bang your head and you’d be seriously injured. The organisation is also poor as you cannot book times. It seems to be first come first serve as they only have so many life jackets so get there early if you’re alone. Our tour managed to get in but initially we’re told we couldn’t go that day, I guess our guide knew someone to thankfully get us in but it was a bit of a mess.
There are changing rooms there but only a room with no seat or pegs so just arrive ready. Go for active wear that will dry quickly and pack a carrier bag for your wet things.

This was the highlight of Jordan for us. Nice to have some wateractivity amidst al the sand and heat.

Make sure to be early because group tours go here.
There are water and dry trails you can do here depending on the season. The shortest and most popular trail is the Siq trail which is like walking through the valley of Petra but with water and waterfalls.

Upon arrrival you can hire watershoes and a drybag. There are seperate changingrooms heren. The lifevest is included in the price. You get to go through the canyon alone en there are guides along the route. If you want to advance to the furthest point where the waterfall is you need to be fit. Or have help. Some point are not easy to pass. Dont cary anything with you but put in the drybag as you will need your hands. A waterproof casing for your phone is nice to make video's.

To get to the adventure center (which is the starting point) is easy via uber or taxi from Aqaba, Madaba or Amman. But getting back is harder. There is no cafe or restaurant here with wifi. So what we did was wait for a taxi to take us back. We were lucky and got one within 15 min. You can ask you taxi or uber to wait for you while you do the trail. The wait was definitly worth it!

Unkind welcome, we arrive, we almost have the Impression of disturbing
At the time of payment, we quickly realize that the person at the reception gave us a bag that we did not ask for and that the amount is higher than what was planned
We make him understand very quickly that we do not need it, he gives us the change ....
No information on the tour, it was a tourist who told us that some circuits were closed ..
little information, it’s really resourceful ... after that we did a very nice ride quite sporty I must say fortunately we had the help of a “Guide”
For those who have a back in compote, not recommended and those who are afraid of water also
But it is a real experience to live!

The reason for giving one star solely lies in the fact that the opening hours do not match to what is written in the internet-> pay attention! We travelled there on April 4th, 2023 and the gates were closed and not able to do anything there. On the website apparently it should open in April but an employee at the gate (who was actually also fairly rude) told us it would not open until end of April (and a lot of busses were constantly coming and going not being aware of this fact-> see pictures). The visitor center per se looks actually pretty good and I am sure that the canyoning would have been awesome. However, if you should travel in April to Wadi Mujib check twice and maybe even call to figure out if it is actually open.

Warning!
Extremely unfriendly and arrogant staff.
We were really looking forward to the Hike. We were ahead of time and were simply ignored.
The next person tried to charge us way too high prices with extra stuff, this was not from internet.
Don't fall for this.
People who came back from the Hike also found it very disappointing..

Nice shaded canyon with current.
Not easy at times but surmountable difficulty.

Reception staff more than unpleasant, no press release information
Throw the waterproof bag on your face which costs 10 days to rent (you don't have to take it)

If you arrive late: wait until the safety nets become available. Could be quite long

Lots of people in the canyon

Expensive: 21 jods for 2 hours with waiting for certain obstacles

Certainly the panorama and the setting are magnificent, certainly the activity itself is great but I have small drawbacks,

Firstly the fact that you have to pay for waterproof bags to store your personal belongings, that's still 10JODS/person but what bothers me the most is the fact that you can't rent them by paying with a credit card but only cash. So no cash, no bag and you have to have one.

Secondly, for me, the park does not offer sufficient staff to guarantee optimal safety.
The activity is dangerous, there is current, rocks, waterfalls, you can’t see where you’re walking. On my route I only encountered 2 lifeguards.

It’s still something to do but take your precautions.
