The lake is beautiful but the small beach noisy and crowded, with sunbeds and umbrellas
very close to each other. Watch out for fines, both at the lake and in the village there are almost only paid parking, the policemen go around all day on scooters to make fines even if the ticket has expired 2 minutes ago. The typical Italian country that survives fines.

Visited here on a cruise ship excursion to Lake Bracciano, which included a stop in Anguillara Sabazia. Basically just a drive by of the beautiful Lake, and the stop in the town was a waste of time for most of us except those who wanted to buy food or drinks or use a restroom (buy something to eat or drink and free restroom use is granted). The town is picturesque from afar, but exceptionally hilly and unwalkable for most people in our group. Except for the restaurants and bars along the promenade, there are no other shops. Unless you're planning a beach day or need to fuel yourself with more food or drink, I would skip this as a cruise ship excursion.

magnificent place but hellish for pedestrians: impossible to reach the lake from the town on foot without risking your life and there are no signs. Public space is, as is often the case, privatized, as are the edges of the lake, making it less pleasant and accessible. I only recommend for those who have a bike or a car otherwise avoid!

The perfect place to celebrate your birthday. We happened upon it without knowing it while there was an expo on Sunday, many stalls with small tastings and local artisans. The lake is spectacular. We stopped in Trevignano Romano, one of the villages on the lake with an orange flag. The lake is a volcanic crater.

Lake Bracciano is of volcanic origin and occupies the crater of an ancient volcano. It is part of a lake system that also includes Lake Martignano nearby. The lake has a surface area of approximately 57.5 square kilometers and a maximum depth of approximately 165 meters. Its shape is irregular, with some coves and peninsulas that contribute to its natural beauty. The waters of Lake Bracciano are known for their cleanliness. The lake's swimmability makes it a popular location for water activities such as swimming, sailing, windsurfing and fishing. On the shores of the lake, in Bracciano, is the Odescalchi Castle. This impressive medieval castle is well preserved and has been used for important events, such as the wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in 2006. Part of the shores of Lake Bracciano is included in the Regional Nature Reserve of Lake Bracciano and Martignano, an area protected that preserves the local flora and fauna.

Swimming lake in some places with volcanic beaches and "excellent" category waters. Mild climate in winter it is very popular with tourists especially in the towns of Anguillara Sabazia and Trevignano Romano. Presence of many typical restaurants, ice cream bars. Pedestrian areas for walks even with children. Recommended for spending a pleasant day.

A beautiful lake and ideal for swimming. The water was at a temperature of 30 degrees. Public or private beach. Be careful not to park anywhere. There is parking close to the beach. Beautiful view of the castle

A wonder a short time from Rome. Clean and spectacular vegetation. Tranquility and shining water. Light seabed in the white sands area. Beautiful countries: trevignano, anguillare and Bracciano.

Took my kids here for an impromptu day trip as they were growing weary of the city. The walk down to the lake is scenic if you take the road. If you take the path it’s pretty steep and wooded area. There are restaurants on the beach that are all good choices. Worth the trip. Nice walk- great views. Black beach sand. Cute town with lots of choices to eat and shop.

Hi there, I would like to visit this area in March of this year with my partner. Any recommendations for a place to stay and things to do?
Many thanks
Written 4 January 2018
March is a little early to enjoy the lake, however you may enjoy Etruscan & Roman history. Bracciano is well connected (for Italy) to Rome and if you have a car you might drive around and see the most incredible Etruscan places. Cerveteri necropolis is a must. And in Rome you have just to choose among the hundreds of attractions / museums / art galleries / Roman history/ etc.
As for where to stay I know only one camping Porticciolo that might be closed till Easter.

Hi. I would like to swim, where is a good area where it is peaceful? Also I wish to rent a kayak but cannot find anywhere online, what prices please?
Thanks
