About
Mudgee Farmer's markets operate on third Saturday of every month. The markets are always on - come rain, hail or shine. Grab a bacon and egg roll, team it with a freshly brewed coffee, and listen to local musicians play as you browse the great range of stalls. Chat to our specialist food producers before selecting some great produce to take home. All products sold have been grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stallholders themselves. The Mudgee Farmers Markets are an authentic Farmers Market, and operate under strict Farmers Market guidelines, so you can be sure all produce sold at the markets is produced as close to our market as possible.

Our first market in the area and probably the best. We bought some wine from a winery stall - bubbles for breakfast!, some fig paste some homemade marmalade and tomato relish.

A large group of friends in town for the weekend visited the Mudgee Fine Food Markets on a warm sunny Saturday morning. The markets were very well set out with a good range of goods. We purchased beautiful sour dough bread, some savory and one fruit loaf. Some of our group also purchased olive tapenade. I think the markets were well organized, but definitely not a cheap way to shop.

Lots of sauces and jams made by locals, different flavours, fruits and colours, which almost tempted me to buy and I know these are made in smaller batches but charging $8+ for small jars is a bit much even when it's gourmet. I couldn't tell whether it was a tourist price. Reasonably priced local honey. Bread. Wine. Brick a brack. Nice setting around the church in the middle of town.

Thank you for your kind review. We would like to point out that the prices our stallholder charge at our Markets are their normal retail pricing. Most of the stallholders come from within the Midwestern Regional Council area. Their products are made from scratch using ingredients grown by them, or where possible locally grown.
At our normal Farmers Market we do not have bric a brac, only food and plants. We do have our local artists join us for long weekend Makers Markets, and once again everything is made by the stallholders themselves.
We hope to see you at one of our markets again soon.

Every year we travel to Mudgee in August/ September - my brother, my daughter and her husband for a family bonding weekend. We always plan our trip to coincide with the Farmers Market. Going to the market throws us right into the local community and provides us with produce to inspire our joint cook-ups accompanied by local wine. Check weather - if it's going to be cold, take really warm gear to wear and spend a couple of hours shopping for bread. cheeses, pork and lamb, cured meats, olive, chilli and saffron products. Eat some baked goods, try some wine, buy some heirloom seeds or veggies, buy tickets in the raffle.....Enjoy!

We visited Mudgee to coordinate with the weekend the market is on not realising it was the Food and Wine Festival. The stalls have beautiful quality produce. Go for breakfast and just eat your way around. Olives and olive oil, honey, jams, baked goods and lamb sausages. That is just the short list of our shopping list. We were recommended great wineries to visit and enjoyed just chatting with the stall holders. Mudgee is blessed with very friendly folk. We can't wait to return but are planning to take friends with us. Spread the word. The town is a gem.

The Farmers Market is held on the third Saturday of each month and well worth visiting. Produce sold includes fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, bread, cakes, preserves (jams, chutneys, pickles), olives and olive products, nuts, honey, hot drinks and hot food - eat-in or take away. After a stroll around the market, take a walk around Mudgee, a great town of about 10,000 people. The town has many well preserved colonial buildings and their are self-guided walks available. For a great breakfast or lunch, go to the Butcher Shop Cafe and for lunch or dinner a visit to the Mudgee Brewing Company is a must. Taste the numerous beers available and enjoy the great food and service. Visit some of the many wonderful wineries surrounding Mudgee and enjoy tasting the products and the views. Logan Wines tasting room, about 15km south, is a striking building with a wonderful view. Take the time and visit Mudgee - you won't be disappointed.

Discovered this market last weekend while visiting Mudgee. My friend and I were really impressed with the range of local produce on offer, and the friendly stallholders willing to discuss their products and the region. I think we had three trips to the car to offload our goodies. Learnt a lot about the area and what they grow - I knew about the wine, cheese and olives but was interested to hear about the saffron, hazelnuts and pistachio. Also stocked up on genuine free range pork products from two suppliers as I have have trouble accessing this at home in Qld. There was also a busker and food available if you had the hungries - all in all, a very pleasant experience. Two of the stallholders were also featured on the monthly 'farmwalk' tour that runs on the Sunday morning after the monthly Saturday market. You can book at the market or at the visitor information centre and meet there at 9am ($10 per adult) - very informative and enjoyable.
