My partner and I had the absolute pleasure of spending the day with Joe on our full day Mudgee wine tour.
I had been sent a reminder text the day beforehand to advise when Joe would be coming to collect us from our Airbnb, and he arrived right on time. There were 10 people on our tour, which was a great size for us. It meant we got to know the other guests, and weren't lost in a sea of people at each tasting.
We ended up visiting 6 wineries in total, all of which offered delicious wines and views of Mudgee. The bus itself was clean and comfortable, with some amazing music playing while we travelled between venues.
SUPER tasty lunch board half way through the day, which was much needed after the morning of tastings we had done.
Joe was absolutely born to be a tour guide! He did such a great job at making everyone feel comfortable and kept the laughs coming. He clearly had great relationships with the people at each winery, and was always more than happy to take photos for everyone. He even booked us a table for dinner after the tour (thanks to his charm with the locals, as the venue was fully booked!)
It was a brilliant day, and I would absolutely recommend Mudgee explorer tours to anyone visiting Mudgee. As great as the experience was, I do think that Joe really made it just as special as it was.
I look forward to returning to Mudgee in the future and taking another tour!

Joe really was born to be a tour guide, he was also a muso in a past life and brings an enthusiasm and soundtrack to his tours that is very unique, everyone enjoys Joe's tours!! He thoroughly enjoyed his afternoon with your group and hopes you come back again soon!!

Fabulous half day exploring wineries, local sites of significance, we recited poetry at Henry Lawsons home, arts and crafty at the old train station and our interests were taken into account with the most wonderful guide... we got the boss ands she was great. Couldn't recommend highly enough, doing Mudgee this makes it complete thanks so much Bronny

We loved the selection of wineries on our full day trip with our tour guide Paul. Paul was extremely knowledgeable and often told us more about the wineries than the people working there. He was exceptional at his job and made the tour what it was.
I'd highly recommend doing the full day tour, we went to 5 wineries and stopped at a local restaurant for lunch and our day went so fast. A great day was had by our party of 8. Thanks again to Paul and Mudgee Explorer Tours.

Having booked a tour with Mudgee Explorer, I wasn’t sure what our group of ten was to expect, however after speaking to our tour guide Jo for 10 minutes at the beginning of our tour, I knew we were on good hands. The bus was spacious and safe, and immediately after departing from our house we began to learn of the journey ahead. Jo was funny, hospitable and above all else a lovely lady, and it was a pleasure to have her as a tour guide. Her connections with the vineyards really showed, as at each destination she proceeded to talk with owners and employees like they were old friends, making us all feel at home in the presence of delicious wine. Furthermore, her time management enabled us to stop at a local cheese making farm, where we bought some of Mudgee’s finest cheeses. I am sure that without Jo there, our tour would have been no where near as good as it turned out to be, with all 10 of us listing the tour as our favourite part of our Mudgee stay. Thanks for an incredible day Jo, you were amazing and I hope to join you on a tour in the future!

I went with my fiancé and booked pretty last minute. Geoff was very accommodating when I send him a list of preferred wineries and responsive.
The tour was a great day after the first stop. I had allergies and Paul and our driver Jeff offered to drive to get medication for me. I was very impressed. Great customer service. I offered to pay. They also said it’s all good.
Overall, our favourite place was Peterson’s and would recommend this tour to anyone who is in Mudgee!

We had a great day with Stephen exploring the wineries and local area. Stephen was fantastic at making everyone feel welcome and sharing knowledge of the wineries and entertaining with his anecdotes. We would highly recommend a tour with Stephen!

Fantastic day out, was so nice to be driven around the wineries. We visited 6 different vineyards and were treated exceptionally well at all six of them. all the wineries were totally different and so we had quite a unique experience with all of them. The owners were all very friendly and the wines were terrific- we bought some at every vineyard. We had lunch at one of the wineries which was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better day. It went like clockwork, obviously a lot of organising behind the scenes by the company as all the wineries were restricted with numbers.All the wineries took care to make sure we all fully complied to the Covid safety rules. Thank youvMudgee Explorer, it was such a fab day. Only regret is we should of bought even more wine :-)

My sister and I completed a Full Day Tour on a Sunday with Mudgee Explorer Tours and absolutely loved it! We happened to be the only people in our group so we had our own personal tour guide - Steve!
Steve picked us up on time at 10am and gave us the run down of the day. We were told the itinerary and could have some input if we wanted. We trusted his choices and of course he delivered. The selection of wineries/cellar doors that were chosen for our day tour included a good mix, providing access to a variety of wines as well gin and spirits, so I think it was a good snapshot of what the area has to offer. On our tour we visited the Small Winemakers Centre, Slowfox, Pieter Van Gent, Walter Wines, Baker Williams and Bunnamagoo.
I was worried that we had a lot of ground to cover over the day and it may feel a bit rushed, but it turns out there was plenty of time everywhere we went, including the stop off for lunch (Walter Wines - delicious by the way!) and it was a really fun and relaxing day. All of the cellar door operators were also very welcoming and informative.
Little did we know, we seemed to have hit the jackpot with an extremely knowledgeable and experienced guide - Steve really knows his wine and knows the area well, as we found out over the day getting to know him. Aside from going above and beyond to be overly hospitable, providing us with snacks and water throughout the day and plenty of information about the wineries and general area we covered over the day as we drove from stop to stop, Steve also took photos of us at every stop and helped us out with our wine tasting (being absolute amateurs ourselves).

The tour guide was great & we enjoyed the tour in general however there were a few things that detracted somewhat.
1) We were on a full day tour. During our lunch break another couple joined us for a half day tour - we had already finished lunch by the time they arrived meaning we sat around with little to do while we waited for them to do their tasting. To me, the timing was a bit out
2) We visited a small wineries shop instead of an actual wintery for one of our stops. As a newcomer to the region, we would have much preferred to visit wineries only rather than a shop (the place was nice but it's just not what we wanted as part of a wine tour).
A learning for us was that most wineries ask for a $5 or $10 tasting fee on top of what you pay for the tour itself.

First timers in Mudgee. Carla took us 4 ladies on a tour yesterday. There was a real mix of wineries which was great. We were not rushed and some of the wineries had real characters doing the tasting. Very memorable. Haven’t laughed so much in years. We will be back and we would totally recommend Carla from Mudgee explorer tours.
