When it finally opened there was an exhibition of Guadalajara through the ages which was interesting and informative.

Well worth a visit to see this special architecture

The Palacio del Infantado is easily reachable with the C2 from Madrid and is on the same line as the UNESCO university town of Alcala. However, you need to either walk 20 minutes plus into town or find a bus since there where no taxis at the train station when I arrived.

The palace and Guadalajara make a great half day trip since the architecture is so unusual and the churches and the city has a fascinating history which has clear Moor influences.

Almost Gaudiesque in style.

Well worth checking out if you are in this area of Spain. The courtyard with its fabulous sculptured columns is currently undergoing some restoration at the moment, so sadly the full impact of the find stone masonary workmanship is rather difficult to see and fully appreciate. The distictive building with its very ornate façade, currently house's an interesting museum.

Highlight of Guadalajara!

Cute palace that you wouldn't expect to see in the middle of a normal town. Beautifully sculptured and a nice courtyard. Free to enter. A portion of the palace was under construction but still was able to appreciate it's beauty.

A very interesting building with a great patio. The impact of lavish architectural decorations of the patio is enhanced by the background of burgundy walls. Definitely worth a visit.

Worth a visit if in town. Interesting building and Architecture, The Palacio is used for photo shoots for weddings. Plenty of street parking nearby. Quite town with pedestrian walkways with restaurants and cafes. Interesting place to stop whilst touring inland Spain.

We stopped at Guadalajara and were astonished looking at this extraordinary well decorated building both the facade and the central courtyard. You have to see to believe such masterpiece. This is the only interesting palace we could find in this place but surely not to be missed because its architecture is outstanding high.
