Hitler started building Prora in 1936 as a holiday home for soldiers. Sadly he then decided to start a war three years later so the building was stopped. It is 5km on concrete that has, thanks to the Government, been turned into a youth hostel,...More

Unbelievable big building, which is now being made into new flats for the locals. Good idea to have the people holidaying here, but it never got finished unfortunately. Beach is nice.

The long building was partly without windows. This time we only see that we saw from a distance. It is longest building we have seen.

Allow yourself plenty of time to, first of all, stroll along the beautiful beach, then enjoy the KdF museum in part of the Prora complex. It's got a ton of detail explaining how Prora was used during DDR times. A really interesting trip to make...More

We parked at the end of building #1 near the beach and walked along the new buildings to the museum about 1.5km one way. There is a small paid lot just off the main road. The walk allowed us to see how they have renovated...More

We want to get the full experience and where not sure which museum concentrates on the building as there are at least three in the area. For a mass of information mostly in German head for the Dokumentationszentrum Prora (see separate review). The video with...More
