Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A great place to exercise with your four legged friend (on leash) or a walk with friends. Great pathed ways around the pond which makes it easy to take a pram etc. Lovely birds in the pond and great play area for children. The pathway around the pond takes about an hour (easy stroll) and is so enjoyable. Easy for walkers/runners/bike riders etc.

Surprised to find this lak and park area a short stroll from our accommodation- you have to hand it to the planners in Canberra for turning this water catchment pond into a great park and community facility.

There’s the obligatory skate bowl, climbing frames and flying foxes however they have cleverly integrated an outdoor gym area for those so inclined. All for free!!

For me though, the 4.8km loop track around the pond (lake?) - which can be shortened by more than a km if you shirt cut across the bridge in the middle of the lake, is great. To share my morning constitutional with the local birds, some overhead and others swimming in the lake was a bonus.

Having lived in Gungahlin for over a decade, we would have visited Yerrabi Pond District Park hundreds of times. It is a great place to visit because it offers such a range of activities -
- bike jumps
- skatepark
- playground
- flying fox
- bbqs
- picnic area
- exercise stations
- pathway around Yerrabi Pond for walking, running or cycling
- hit the water with a kayak or SUP
- plenty of benches where you can sit and enjoy the views
- fishing (never tried, but have seen other people doing so)

From time to time the water level can get low and on these occasions the water becomes a bit stagnant and smelly, but usually there is no odour to notice and the water is fine.

This Park is used by the Gungahlin Parkrun every Saturday morning too, and they regularly attract 300+ plus participants (even me occasionally), so the organisers must be doing something right.

Highly recommend this area of Gungahlin to locals and visitors alike. It is well-maintained by the ACT Government and offers something for everyone.

We live in the area and stroll around the pond regularly. Good foot and cycle paths, pleasant open spaces and kids playgrounds on both the north and southern sides. The southern side, nearer the Gungahlin Town Cente, is larger, with a skate park and public toilets. Swans and other bird life, often including a couple of pelicans, help provide for a lovely even stroll.

This park area has something for all age groups, from youngsters wanting a swing or slide, monkey bars or a jiggle. A beginners skate bowl so let the under 5's bring their bike or scooter. There is also park activities for the teens. Flying fox, balance bridge, basketball court and skate park. There is even a bmx track.
There is the pond with plenty of bird life.
A walk around the lake of approx 4km or 6km of you take the longer walk.
Near the park there are also cafe's. Around the walk of the lake there are also 2 smaller parks if you have children who ride along with you and need a break.
There is a toilet block and bbq's at Yerrabi Pond.
The park also has an all abilities swing suitable for wheelchairs.

Good range of activities for kids of all ages from toddlers to teenagers and even a wheelchair swing. New outdoor fitness equipment is also good for adults. Walking/bicycle path around the lake is about 5km and is mainly flat so is easy to navigate. Skate park, toddlers playground and flying fox will keep everyone entertained. Free BBQs and some seating as well as plenty of shaded parkland can accommodate small and large groups.

Love walking around this little lake. It's about 5.7 km long. It is a flat and easy walk. Take your time and enjoy the bird life on your way round.

There are footpaths and bicycle paths (shared) around the lake. It is good for family with young children for a few hours outing. The Yerrabi Pond District Park there has a children playground and BBQ area which is very popular on the weekend. There are also flying foxes, big swing, basketball ground, bmx tracks. Also nearby is an mechanical exercise equipped area. Total distance around the lake is just under 4 kms. Australian Swams and cygnets are commonly seen in spring, from September to November. Cockatoos and water birds are abundant. A smaller BBQ and children playground is found on the opposite side of district park across the water.
