We have used the ferry on many holidays but never the sunset cruise, it was fabulous. At $25 per adult we had around 1.5 hours cruising into the canals and up the river for sunset. The driver was very friendly, ice buckets, ice and glasses were available on board. We got on at an early stop (T Boats) which was advisable as the last pick up was behind Hastings street and that was very busy so most of them didnt get roof top seats. That stop was also the first dropped off do I think there experience was around 1 hour. We asked to be dropped off at 'The Boathouse' stop and went out for a late dinner on the river.
It was a spectacular was to view the sunset and enjoy the river and a drink in style.
Absolute must do.

Decided to take my Mum who is 88 for a trip on the ferry and would highly recommend this trip for its value, beautiful scenery and great commentary by our Captain Dan. We departed near the Sofitel @ Noosa( $25 an adult and I think $22.50 for a pensioner - it’s an all day pass that you can jump on and off the ferry at chosen stops or do a round trip as we did ) and headed to Tewantin .
There are a number of different stops you can get on and off the Ferry ,between Noosa and Tewantin ( takes about 35 mins total ). Stop for a coffee , lunch at some fabulous restaurant or visit a gallery and markets on a Sundays at Tewantin OR you can stay on board as we did and come straight back ( total trip including about 10 mins at Tewantin , takes around an hour and twenty minutes) . Either way it’s a winner and a great way to see all the sights along the river , including all the fabulous properties. Great particularly for families as the kids on board seemed to love it and good for anyone who likes a bit of adventure that’s very safe ! Dan was our Captain and provided really interesting commentary all the way up and back, so you’ll learn allot about the history of Noosa , how we all should have brought some property in the early 1980’s , how the mouth of the river was moved and why and all about the water craft on the river. Highly recommended this company and all it offers .

Thanks for the detailed review Barb - much appreciated. I'll be sure to pass on your comments to Dan as my skippers are certainly a bit part of the experience we provide. All the best, David

Ahoy there ... we are so glad we found this on our trip to Noosa. We purchased tix only $22 ish for seniors which allowed us to travel around the river between Tewantin, Noosaville and Noosa all day on this beautiful open boat. As we got on board and took our seats we met our captain for this leg his name was John and he was fabulous. He informed and entertained us on the history and landmarks along the waterways as we casually cruised to Hastings Street. It was so relaxing and so much fun we stayed on board and did the entire loop as we had time to spare before we had to go for lunch in Hastings St. we have already organised to do it again next sunny day and take a bottle of wine and nibbles on board for the sunset cruise where captain John said they crank up the music and make it even more fun. What a wonderful way to get around. Throughly recommend for any age. If you ask nicely he may even let you toot the whistle and get a photo the kids love it

What a bargain!! 2 grand parents one grand daughter on her first boat trip $45 for 2 on an all day pass. We did the round trip to Tewantin with a lunch break in between. Brad (aka Brad Pitt) was our skipper, commentator, berthing attendant, boarding assistant and a very friendly gent. He even let a young girl sound the horn - just a nice touch. Interesting views along the way and some of the houses are spectacular viewing from the water. Great way to spend 2-3 hours and you can bring food or drinks on board - one young mum had a bottle of wine with a wine glass but to be fair she had quite a few kids so we understood. The cruise can include sunset which could be quite romantic on the top deck.

Travelled several times on the ferry from yacht club to Hastings street. It is just so convenient and the trip is made so much more enjoyable by the ferry master with their commentary along the journey. Kids can also get in on the act by blowing the horn as you come into each of the stops. The fee is based upon a zonal system and is still quite cheap for the ride, which operates between the Noosa marina and Sofitel hotel at Hastings street. It is a good way to to take in the sites along the river - they also run a sunset cruise where you can take food and drink along including alcohol.

We live here on Sunshine Coast, but recently took a visitor and I think we loved the experience as much as they did. We had amazing weather and the sunset was so beautiful over the river and the lights shining off the water from the shore as it got darker was excellent. There was a great mix of feeling informed, but plenty of chill time to just listen to the music and enjoy the view. Ice and glasses provided for the drinks we took on board, keeping cost down and making it more affordable to do. Well done to Noosa Ferry & Cruise Company. Very happy customers.

Great sunset cruise, pity that some cloud cover blocked the sun while it was setting. Apart from that the cruise was quite enjoyable enjoying the serenity of the Noosa river. Arthur our captain was quite nice and knowledgeable.

We started the trip from the Noosa Marina, Tewantin and made our way to Noosaville while picking up other passengers, Then we we along the river past all the gorgeous houses to the Noosa spit and made our way back to the Wiebo creek with houses on one side and awesome greenery with birds nesting on the other.

All in all a wonderful adventure and natural beauty to absorb while sipping a nice drink with nibbles. The sky becomes a canvas for the dying sun to create a beautiful masterpiece with the clouds adding variety to the colour.

While I enjoyed this relaxing cruise, my husband wasn't so keen. He would have enjoyed seeing wildlife, birds etc rather than the urban build up of this old river. It resembles 'Yuppyville on Noosaville'. We did see a young man and his Dad with a nice big barra (minus its tail bitten off by a bull shark presumably). The captain of our ferry was full of interesting history about the river and its geography. This is definitely a cruise highlighting how urbanisation has taken over the course of the river. You are required to bring your own drinks and nibbles. Unfortunately others on our cruise thought they were entitled to have ours. We had to inform them a number of times it was private food and still they took liberties. Not impressed with others. Perhaps there needs to be a sign as customers come on board to consume their own food. Otherwise inform them they need to bring their OWN FOOD and DRINKS.

The Noosa ferry sunset cruise is a must do on any Noosa itinerary. With the ability to BYO snacks and drinks, it's great value. This was a beautiful way to take in the river and see the stunning homes from a waterfront perspective. Just the right amount of commentary was provided from our skipper Geoffrey giving some really good history and insight into the area. My whole family, adults and child alike, enjoyed the experience. A fabulous, relaxing and fun way to start the evening!

We enjoyed a really relaxing cruise from Hastings St to Tewantin, where we had a lunch booking at one of the restaurants. Mick the skipper was really knowledgeable and enhanced what was already a good trip. He told us really interesting insights about the characters who used to live along the water and explained how the landscape has changed. It was a VERY relaxing and interesting way to spend an hour or so!
