Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely shocking you pay the $$$ as you would stating in dwellingup. Care takers are nice however no bin facility, no individual camp fires .. restrictions on generators and noise. Stayed here once will never stay here again. Dwellingup , Harvey, waroona so much better and so much cheaper

We paid ParkStay for a night at Martin's Tank but never got there. Their website said:
'Access includes unsealed roads suitable for 2WD and AWD vehicles but road conditions can be variable and caution is advised'
The corrugations were so bad on the 6 km access road that we stopped after 1 km for the sake of our vehicle which was being rattled to bits at any speed we tried. Another 2WD vehicle coming towards us stopped and told us that they had gone 4 kms up the road but had turned back for fear of getting bogged with three kids in the car.
I notified ParkStay that their road needed grading, assuming that they would appreciate the feedback and do something about it. As far as they were concerned, the above comment that "conditions can be variable" covered them. And "that many hundreds of 2WD vehicles have accessed the campground over recent months."
I wonder how many others turned back? Very disappointing.

At the right time of year, l would think that this place is stunning. We did enjoy taking every turn off the main road to see what the view was like. Saw a few birds and roos. The thrombolites were worth seeing.

We drove to spend 1 night at Preston Beach camp ground and was very disappointed!
3 Quarters of the reason to go camping is to be around a camp fire 🔥 However none of the camp sites have fire pits.
There are only 2 communal fire pits where the cooking area is, which is a hike from your camp site with all your wood for the fire and cooking supplies.
It's the most ridiculous design.
Won't be going back!

A lovely bush camp site, great camp kitchen & picnic area, with lovely camp sites, several big enough for Caravans

If you want to visit the thrombolites then you need to get down here and why not take a bush walk whilst your there.
I spent a day down at Yalgorup National Park and wasn't disappointed. It was a quiet time to visit during the week and firstly I headed to see the ancient thrombolites. There is a car park very close and a boardwalk that leads out so visitors don't damage them, great way to view them and Lake Clifton is stunning.
Just to the right of the walkway to the thrombolites there is a bush walk you can do, the Lakeside Loop Walktrail, around 5km that follows alongside Lake Clifton. I found many people didn't complete this but there was a constant stream of people coming to see the thrombolites.
AfterLake Clifton I drove to the Lake Pollard walk trail in Preston Beach Road. This was a 6km circular walk but do be mindful that the start of this walk is down an unsealed road. Some great views though if you can get to this one. As it was midweek it was again quiet and I had this walk to myself and didn't cross paths with anyone.
Overall it's definitely worth a visit. Most people will just go and see the thrombolites but if you can, go and explore more of the park as there is so much more to see.

We drove down from Mandurah to see the thrombolites (about 40 mins from town centre), very easy access from the main road. Once there, the information boards were very informative and the walkway proved easy access from the carpark to over the water to see the thrombolites. Our teenage boys were underwhelmed by the experience, but my wife & I enjoyed the not just viewing the thrombolites and reading the info boards but also the serenity and the vistas of the surrounding lake. Well worth a visit.

Went to see the Thrombolites (ancient 65 to 300 million years old) at Yalgorup. There is a jetty built over them for viewing. Wonderful to see such a unique group of these ancient creatures. The information boards were excellent and we were able to obtain very good photos. After all the razz m razz of today's gadgets this was a relaxing and informative visit. Free of charge....a bonus. Australia is lucky to have them.

Not to far off the highway that was well sign posted we found the thrombolites. It was free to enter the park and plenty of parking with a toilet block as well.
There’s a concrete path and board walk that takes you out over the area.
There’s a bit to see and taking the time to read how they were formed and a few photos and the walk and half hour or a bit more and your done.

Lake Clifton. Amazing round boulders growing in this fresh water lake. Not well publised but worth a look. Good boardwalk.
