Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hard not to miss this modern building when walking the historic streets. There is a bridge that crosses to it which is a great idea.

This place is a bit like the Sydney Opera House to the extent that it was apparently designed from the outside in. It has a very striking exterior, with two diagonally folded roofs coming down to corners at ground level; classy but too easy to walk into if you are visually impaired or walking head down.
The Princess Royal Theatre is like a building within, so there are some interesting spaces in between. There is one staircase and a lift to the Circle level, but the only toilets and the bar are downstairs. The toilets are woefully inadequate; with long queues for both sexes at interval of the show we went to. There is an outside entrance at Circle level which was used by a lot of circle patrons afterwards; for some reason there was a "no exit" sign there although the automatic doors were working.
The auditorium seats only 618, so no-one is far from the stage and everyone has a good view. In some respects it is a bit of a let down; pained a sombre mat black everywhere, so you can't see any architectural form which may exist. The only relief is the purple seats, which were very comfortable. The acoustics and stage lighting are also very good.
We saw a great show which wasn't diminished by any shortcomings of this almost intimate (by city standards) little venue.

The Albany Entertainment Centre is very modern. There are lots of windows. It is attractive with its many pointed elements.

A red modern statue is in front of the building.

I was fascinated with the angles as they were quite interesting.

Nearby was the ocean.

Worthwhile to see and experience the Arts Festival.

We went here for lunch with friends. The décor and ambience of this building makes for good dining for a reasonable budget. The views from the full plate glass windows makes conversation difficult because the views are breathtaking. The choice on the menu covers the majority of palates so you would not be disappointed. Would not recommend this venue for children.

Attended a wedding here and the next day the two layers of the wedding cake were nowhere to be found. Also gone all the cakes which were supposed to be for the family. Also gone, a very expensive pearl ring and a very expensive cigar case. The main meal was very average to say the least. The sweets were okay. Would never go here again.

It's located closely to the Albany Visitors Centre and the Boatsed Market! After we had met the friendly staff at the Albany Vissitors Centre, we went to the Entertainment Centre and the Boatshed market (0nly on Sunday)! Strongly suggest to follow this way!

The unusual architectural design of this building adds some real character to the Albany Waterfront Marina area. The Albany Entertainment Centre (AEC) has a delightful location right on the edge of the harbour, so it's a lovely place to take a stroll and enjoy the fresh sea air. Even if you don't go inside for an event, it's an interesting building to look at from the outside, and makes a good subject for photography as well - you can take in a short walk at the marina at the same time.

I've been here a couple of times for concerts, the most recent one being the live simulcast for WASA's Symphony in the City, which was free. The broadcast did cut out once or twice, but overall it was a great experience, and well attended. Other concerts I've been to here were very good. The staff were helpful, and the seating is excellent, with good views no matter where you are seated. It's really a lovely facility for watching performances, shows, and concerts.

Several restaurants are close by, including The View, which is on the premises, and also next door the pub-style Due South, and a small coffee shop. An overhead walkway makes easy access to Stirling Terrace shops and cafes.
