Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Being a local, there are so many wonderful places around King George Sound, too many to mention. It's a massive area consisting of over 100 square km, and is protected on most sides.
First of all, there's the Sound itself. Best views are from the Marine Drive lookout and Mt Clarence lookout, and also from Mt Martin or LImestone Head if you don't mind a walk. You'll see large ships, yachts, and at the right time of the year whales also come here. In the distance, there's the beautiful Michaelmas and Breaksea Islands, the latter which has a lighthouse.
Then around the sound, there's the Frenchman Bay area, with many beautiful and quiet beaches between Flinders Peninsula (location of Bald Head) and Vancouver Peninsula (location of Point Possession). From the sound is a small entrance into Albany's natural harbour, Princess Royal Harbour. Then at the base of Mt Adelaide is Middleton Beach, which stretches all the way to Emu Point and Oyster Harbour. Finally on the north side there's Mt Martin, Ledge Beach, and the Gull Rock area. All of these places are worthy of exploration and visiting. A true scenic and natural wonder that helps make Albany what it is.

Visited on Sunday 24th November and it is still as amazing as I remember from my previous visits to Albany. Plenty of lookouts to see it from different angles.

This is a great place to take in the brilliant views of the Southern Ocean and some exercise by walking the 5-6 kms stretch which has dense vegetation and spectacular views of the ocean. It is a must visit for those going to Albany.

Enjoy some great panoramic views of the surrounding coastal areas and Albany.
On a clear day, ensure you bring your camera for some great photography and your binoculars for some whale spotting.

King George Sound is on the Southern coast of Western Australia. For many troops going off to war, King George Sound was the last they saw of Australia. .Albany had whalers residing here as long ago as 1801. The military outpost at Albany was founded in 1826. King George Sound is one of the finest natural harbours in Australia, comparable to Sydney Harbour. King George Sound was charted by Captain George Vancouver RN in 1791.

I went on this boat tour of the sound. The Captain was a very funny man and kept us all entertained and well informed the whole time. I recommend it.

Albany has so many lovely places to see, that it is a photographers delight Any where along the coast there are the opportunities of viewing the Lord's handy work. When the Lord was handing out accolades, he spoilt Albany rotten.

King George Sound is huge and so impressive.... best way to appreciate its beauty is to take a whale watching boating tour. Also, going for a drive along Frenchman Bay and the Biibulnum track.
