Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Concur with reviews about the view, but given my time over again, being relatively fit, I would have done the walk from the park gate. I found the drive up quite scary in parts. Ahead a gravel road with a sharp left turn with just narrow yellow gravel and the sky for the view. Despite potholes and deep drains, there were appropriate direction signs. Sure am a more elderly driver but I wouldn't repeat the trip via the humble Camry. The views were great, but journey up elevated the heart rate. Coming down was fine, with each 100m completed a step closer to those homes at the base. A bonus too with hundreds of kangaroos in the lower paddocks.

Huon Hill is where you find the best view of both Albury and Wodonga. If you drive towards Lake Hume watch for the sign to turn left just before Killara. You can also park the car and walk up the hill but the road is fine for a normal car you do not need a 4WD to go up. At the top you will find a great area for barbecue or picnic with a car park and need to walk a bit to a fabulous lookout with amazing views in all directions.

Great place to view sunsets and sunrises. Plenty of kangaroos to see and on occasion deer can be seen. Great place for family or visitors. There is a picnic spot at the top and great walks around the hill with lookout point to see across the surrounding area.

We walked up to the summit of Huon Hill along a formed track (not the road) and although quite a steep trail it was very worth the effort, even on a rather hot afternoon. We were not particularly fit and it took less than a hour to walk up the track, including necessary rest stops, and the views were spectacular of the surrounding areas. There is a road up but why not walk and enjoy the extra challenge ??!! We parked on the edge of a new residential area near the corner of Summit Drive and Timberline Trail and followed the trail up the hill, seeing numerous kangeroos along the way resting under the trees. Cattle obviously frequent the area as well from the amount of manure on the hill. Very steep in places but very safe - just take your time and enjoy the fantastic views along the way.
Not an easy walk up and much better on the way back down !! We were so glad that we didn't just drive up... Give it a go !!

Not sure why the local council does not signpost this until you are actually at the entrance. (Follow the dirt road behind Bandiana army barracks). Well worth the drive to the top, with views that extend in every direction. Will give you a good sense of the local area. Bring a jacket ... it may be warm at the bottom but the wind blows at the top. Picnic facilities and toilets near top carpark.

I have been up here many times and have to say it's the best view of the area around. Always fairly quiet as I think it's not as well known as it should be. The drive up is narrow and steep in parts but once on top it's well worth it. Great views out to Lake Hume and if you walk up the other Hill awesome views over Wodonga. A must visit if you have time.

Once you find the way up the winding road the view is the best around Albury-Wodonga! Bring a picnic, have a barbecue and enjoy the time "up there" for as long as you can!

This parkland covers one of the largest hills in the area, giving you stunning views of Albury, Wodonga, Lake Hume and the Murray River. During the day it is a lovely place to be but my favorite time of day to go up is night as you can see much more clearly the lights of all the different local areas.
One thing to take into account: The road up to the top of the hill is a challenging and VERY steep drive, and requires a confident driver. Although its possible for me to get up there in my Ford Falcon, a 4WD would always be the safest option, especially after any sort of rain. Occasionally you will come across cows, kangaroos and other wildlife. Although I imagine they are quite tame, the livestock of course belong to someone so I'd just leave them be and wait for them to get out of your way.
A great place to visit if you are in the area as it really gives you a birds-eye view of this great part of the world. Bring the binoculars!

Went with some trepidation after reading previous reviews mentioning the poor road conditions to reach the summit. Alas the road was fine. The views at the top are enhanced due to the signs pointing things of interest across the 360 degree vista. There are a number of marked walking trails that can also be used to reach the summit.
