Go Ride A Wave Torquay is the most well known location of Australia's favourite surf school who provide 2 hour surfing lessons for beginners every day from $79. We also provide surfboards bodyboards and wetsuits for hire and have all the equipment you need for the beach available for sale from our shop which is the closest shop to the Torquay beach.

Awesome experience for my 12 year old son. This lesson was the first time he ever handled a surfboard and was up and catching waves immediately. He is hooked from just one lesson. Thanks for the experience.

Learnt to surf with Tom, and four other "younger adults" who showed me how to surf for the first time :/ It was a tiring, frustrating, enjoyable experience where I was laughing at my own classic dismounts. Tom is an excellent, ever encouraging teacher. Great job! Recommend to take the extra option to continue surfing for the day for minimal fee.

Best experience Ever, Even people can surf without knowing anything about surfing. Friendly staff throughout the process.
Just one thing is that you cant get your memories of surfing through photos or videos unless you have a friend or family who doesn't surf on the day.
Go Ride a Wave please provide surfers with a option for photo and video. People who surf for the first time would be happy to purchase their memories for few dollars which is previous.
Coming again with friends soon.

The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, they made my sons first experience of surfing a very fun time. I would highly recommend Go Ride A Wave to anyone the instructors know their stuff and care if the kids have a great time. Five Stars.

We loved our morning with Go Ride A Wave! The weather wasn't great, however the full length wetsuits kept us super warm. The instructors were awesome and made sure everyone stood up on their board at least once during the lesson. Most of session spent in water and the instructions were nice and clear and easy to remember. We definitely want to get into surfing now!

My partner and I had a surfing lesson with Becky, could not recommend her enough!! She got us on to our feet catching great waves, very bubbly with lots of energy and enthusiasm and did a great job of explaining the steps to surfing and how to read where is safe to surf and where are rips. We will definitely be coming back when in Torquay again. Thanks Becky!!

We had an awesome lesson this morning with Matthew at cosy corner. Very professionally run class with all the COVID measures in place, they were so organised and enthusiastic despite have to work around closures and limited class sizes, doing such a good job making sure we had the best session. We loved our experience and will be back for sure. Highly recommend! Also the wetsuits were so warm despite the chilly water.

Booked this for my two boys 9 & 10 who totally loved the lesson and experience. Matt our instructor was super, giving great basic technical instructions along with the fun in the surf. Two boys now converted to surfing and retiring the boogy boards

I had my first lesson with Go Ride a Wave and loved it. Friendly instructor, clear explanations and I felt very safe. I am late to surfing (52) but I didn't feel out of place and am keen to get out there and practice what I learnt. If you have always wanted to have a go, I highly recommend Go Ride a Wave to help you take that first step.

One of the most memorable days of our lives - my 2 x 15 year olds and me can't stop smiling afterwards. With long wetsuits provided the water is not cold even in winter and we were surprised how quickly we were in the water and riding. Highly recommended.
