Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

June 2022
We visited the Farmers Market on the Torquay foreshore in June 2022 and although the weather was bad, there were enough stalls to wander for a few hours. There was live music as a great background, and we were able to find parking very easily despite there being a lot of people. After wards, we wandered across the road the a little cafe (which had public toilets either side ~ very handy after eating/drinking at the market) and we had a nice lunch and coffee before taking a walk along the lovely foreshore path. There were playgounds everywhere for the kids (including directly next to the cafe if you want a peaceful coffee while still being able to supervise the kiddies). In the warmer months, I imagine there would be more stalls to explore but there were enough to make the experience enjoyable.

The Cowrie Market is huge and has music, ocean views and craft. It is held once a month on the esplanade.
(warmer months only- closed through winter)
This Market here being reviewed is the FARMERS market.
It is a small market selling locally grown produce.
There is a coffee van and is a great place to get your fresh eggs and organic vegetables. This market is held ever weekend.- held year round at shire car park.

My husband & I go to Torquay Farmers'Market every Saturday for coffee. Ocean Grind Coffee is roasted here in Torquay. We usually buy a chocolate croissant & a vegan loaf of bread from the Penny Royal Bush bakery. Sometimes we indulge in cakes or biscuits from Annette's Kitchen if the croissants have all gone. We occassionally buy raw vegan treats for one of our daughters & Anton 's macaroons for the other one. We get amazing blueberries from the Otway Blueberry Farm & excellent strawberries from someone else. There have also been blackberries too. You can buy a range of fantastic potatoes, free range eggs, garlic, pickles, sausages, cheeses including Meredith cheese, Otway beef & Raven Creek free range pork. (The bacon & pork roasts are to die for!)- & much more. All this is local produce. There is also a green grocer with fruit, vegetables & flowers for convenience. Actually you can buy most reasonably priced quality food items there that you can think - except chicken, fresh fish & lamb which is peculiar given they are produced locally & are very popular.

This is a great little farmers market supplying local fresh produce. They operate every Saturday and get very busy so you need to be quick to snap up the best of the bargains.
Well worth a visit.

We loved this little market as there was so much parking and all the produce was very fresh and mostly organic. For such a small market it had everything and a great family atmosphere. If one lived in the area you would visit every market day.

Love this market; lots local stall holders selling fresh fruit and veg produce, fresh breads, cheeses, honey and preserve, goats milk and cheese, smoked fish, homemade cakes, macaroons, almonds and lots nuts, local pork and salamis, flowers, homemade cordials, momos and spring rolls, olive oil, local wines, and even fresh coffee. We highly recommend it to anyone interested in fresh, quality and local food. Some stalls are organic too. Hard to choose but my favourites are the bread stall and the cheeses, followed closely by the fruit and veg.

We regularly come here on a Saturday morning to get our weekly fruit and veg and a couple of hot drinks from the cute vintage caravan called Ocean Grind. They have amazing Soy Chai Lattes and what my Fiance said was the best coffee he has ever had. It's lovely walking around looking at all the fresh artisanal foods and there is also a fair few Vego options available which is awesome!!! Highly recommend if you are after something to do on a Saturday morning and luckilly they are open EVERY Saturday :)

A good range of food available at this market. Fruit and Veg as well as a range of meat options. If you are hungry while walking around the market, then you must try the spring rolls. The best spring rolls ever.

I had read about the market and it sounded as if it was quite large. Only a handful of stall selling basically fruit and veg and some wine and pastries. Good for locals.

Very extensive market with lots of craft, food and music. The views from the market are down to the beach and the ocean, and the location is stunning. Loved it.
