I visit Port Fairy every year and an outing to Blarney is always on my list of must-dos. The gallery space is small but packed full of an incredible variety of beautiful art. The bookshop is, again, packed with rows and rows of new and secondhand books. But, aside from the books and art, there are many delightful, colourful, inviting, quirky spaces to discover and explore. Step into this incredible building for five minutes or five hours. Blarney Books had everything I need. It even allows you to grab a coffee, pull up a chair and read. The art work I found this year had improved though as they say it is all in the eye of the beholder. I went back on Monday to find it was closed as I was not aware it is not open all week. …

Blarney is my favourite book shop and art gallery in Australia. Although I can’t get there in person often as I live in SA, it always stands out as the best collection of new and used books. The art is great, the owners generous with their advice and welcoming. If you can get there, do!…
