Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A minor pitstop on your journey. Stop here and stretch your legs for a while. Soak in the scenic view. Read about the project and its journey on the placard posted by Pacific Hydro.

We were keen to check out the windfarm we could see from the road and hurriedly followed the signs to the viewing area. Only to get there and find that access is restricted to 20m off the highway except for pre-booked tours?? I have no idea why this is the case as we could have easily driven much closer to the turbines...

The wind was blowing and the turbines were turning (except one that was not working) and it looked like your typical wind farm sitting on wind blown hills.Seen one, seen them all.

I actually DID the tour (unlike a lot of the reviewers below) and found it really interesting. On the tour you get right up close to a tower and can see that they are quiet and majestic. They also provide income for the farmer who owns the land - who can still use it for animals as well - and provide emissions-free electricity.

We drove past the windfarm on our way to Port Fairy. The sign on the road reads viewing platform so we thought we would stop on our way back as it was on the other side of the road. The windfarm itself is fascinating, but the photos I took from the viewing platform could have nearly been taken from the road inside the car. That part was disappointing. I would take photos heading east so you get a better idea of the expanse of the farm.

Looked forward to getting up close and personal with the windmills You could see them from some distance on the road. Followed the road signs only to get there and find a viewing platform miles away from the windmills/farm. Disappointed. Don't even bother stopping. Its not worth it.

Very clean area. Only a very small platform too read the information but it looks like it helps so that there is not a lot to wreck. The artwork of the wood is great touch too.

This is a large wind farm just west of Port Fairy . Out front there is a large sign indicating Afternoon Teas and Tours of the Wind Farm .Pull off the road into the car park and you find a locked gate.
Best they take the sign down

Not picking on this one alone, but these massive wind turbines are a blight on our beautiful and scenic countryside (in Australia and all over the world). Flying over Europe, the view is disrupted and degraded by hundreds even thousands of these massive things.
I'm all for alternative energy but not at the destruction of the scenic beauty of some (previously) stunning environments.
