Old Gippstown is a heritage park built on 8 acres of landscaped Crown Land. It is unique in that 80% of its buildings are original (not purpose built). There are many artefacts that have been donated and are in the buildings and surrounds. It has one of the largest collections of horse drawn vehicles held in public hands. We are a deductible gift recipient, so donations of $2 or more to the Park are tax deductible. We also have a number of areas available for hire around our park, with prices available on request. Arrangement for school tours can be made as well as bus groups. Weddings, functions and parties can be catered for.

Took 3 Primary School aged grandsons to Old Gippstown. Had a most enjoyable 2 hours, (probably about the "right" amount of time to spend here) The boys enjoyed the experience of the "Olden days", with the ability to explore and touch and feel most of the exhibits. The staff/volunteers were most friendly and helpful, free ride on the Fire Engine... More

We decided to spend a couple of hours here while touring the area. A very informative, well set out look at the way of life over 100 years ago. Allow one to 2 hours ...perhaps a bit more if you have little ones...or if you like to take a long time with each exhibit. Toilets were clean and well appointed... More

A friend and I stumbled upon Old Gippstown by accident. We were on a roadtrip and was just looking for a bathroom break. While resting in the carpark we noticed a few old buildings across the fence and decided to check them out. Turns out it was an extremely fascinating Heritage park. We ended up staying for 2 hours! It... More

Visited Gippsland Heritage Park yesterday. It was an enjoyable experience. Good value for $8.00 per adult. Looking through the buildings gives you a glimpse into the past. The displays are well presented & informative i.e the 'half way' house has a push button with commentary. The gardens are also excellent with ponds, fountains & a area dedicated to gold mining... Went there with family and friends and had a good time. It was a beautiful day and we all enjoyed ourselves. A lot of history to look at and some of the buildings are getting a bit run down but a good overall look into some of Gippsland's early history.

I went here as parent help for a school trip. Not normally a place I would go otherwise but was very impressed. Friendly and Knowledgable people and a wide rang of things to do. Well worth a visit if you have a few spare hours.

Driven past Old Gipps Town countless time but with my grandchildren (aged 12 and 14 aboard) I decided to call. The well maintained buildings and artifacts create a sense of history and of the struggle the early settlers endured. The static displays are clearly explained and volunteers are there to help visitors through the park. For my grandchildren however, the... More
