Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Cowes Beach is a quiet place to visit, it has a pleasant grassy area where you can spread a picnic rug. The water is calm, it's a great place for youngsters to have a paddle, the waves are rarely threatening. The Cowes village is walking distance, it has most things you need. Parking is not usually a problem.

Just got home from a week at Cowes, even though the weather was wet, windy and cold I really enjoyed walking the beach early in the morning.
Nice to sit for a while on the rocks and just look out into the water, very relaxing, good thinking time.
Always clean and tidy, right at the end of the main shopping street it is very easy to access.
Nice lawn areas above the beach with nice clean toilet facilities.
Great area in the good weather , nice sand and mainly calm water,
Roll on summer it will be packed.

I've been coming to Phillip Island for 20 years. This beach has always been a great beach to walk the dog along early in the morning for the sunrise or swim in in the summer. Nice spots to grab some fish and chips or a coffee and sit on the grass and watch the beach. Definitely a nice beach after travelling around the world and seeing some nice beaches in my time. It is safe to swim and the jetty is lovely to walk down.

Quiet, nice sand and close to the shops.
Cowes is a quaint little village with lots of cafe's, restaurants and clothing shops.
They have Coles, Woolworths and Aldi.
There isn't anything else you would need to enjoy your holiday.

After a circular stroll around Cowes we ended up on the esplanade and a hint at Victorian grandeur along the Queen's favourite amble watching the yachts go by.
Nice and clean and looked pretty child friendly although the water isn't the tropics. Easy access to the town centre and all available amenities.

Friendly staff with beautiful views. Enjoyed our oyster entree but then things went very downhill. Great local wine and beer list. Good Covid compliance. Chewy pork belly and a shared plate full of fried offerings. Looking forward to coming back when the chef is sorted. At the end of the day the food has to be right.

The Esplanade at Cowes has enough grass to allow for a good picnic. Families love it. There's also a .beach. The water is calm, it's a good place for kids to paddle. It's likely that you will find some shade it it is a hot day.

My wife and I visited this place during our recent holiday in Phillip Island. We have been here many times before over the years.
Cowes Beach is a major tourist attraction due to its scenic beauty and its location near the town centre (short walking distance).
It is also where boat cruises depart.
There are many accommodation places within a short walking distance along the Esplanade.

I swam on several occasions from this beach both in front of the town and further along out of town. It isn't the best beach in the world and in early March was windy with rough seas and moderate temperatures. But is was quiet, clean and absolutely OK.

The beach is clean and very well maintained and kept, however the surrounding town centre is very tourist orientated, with little to appeal unless you want eateries and grocery shops. Good choice of supermarkets with car parks, but other shops mainly cheesey gift shops. Community centre has tried to lift the ambience with neat touches.
