I took my two children (8 and 10 years old) to Wildlife Wonders and we had a fantastic tour. We saw 3 koalas, 2 wallabies and had 2 emus “lead” our tour for about 5 minutes as they walked along the path ahead of us. What an incredible experience!! Our guide, Sarah, was extremely knowledgeable and lovely. We learnt a lot about the local wilderness and enjoyed every moment.

The ticket price seemed a little expensive initially on booking but to give back toward the conservation efforts is worth every cent. Highly recommend to all!!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I'm so pleased you had such a lovely time with your children - Sarah is incredibly knowledgeable and it sounds like you had some very special wildlife sightings! You're absolutely right, knowing that all profits go straight towards conservation programs across the region is very exciting. We look forward to welcoming you again!

With some doubt I took my 7yo ' happy to be a couch potato clued to an ipad' granddaughter to the Wildlife Wonders holiday program, unsure if it would hold her attention for the duration. My fears were very quickly put to rest, her attention was captivated from the start until the end of the day. The guides are so knowledgeable and their enthusiasm infectious, all the children (and adults) were hanging on every word.
The day started with a talk and live example of a herbivore, omnivore and carnivore; all the time being watched on by the very curious resident emus who just love to look through the full glass windows at everyone . Next, morning tea before it was to the briefing room to be fitted with headsets and binoculars.
The walk, seeing the animals in their natural habitat, was truly a great experience. Our guide once again holding our attention with details on not just the animals but the ecology of the small section of paradise we were in. Our walk took in emus, koalas, wallabies and not shy kangaroos, gang gang cockatoos, frogs and fungi and such diverse plant life; all the time my granddaughter loving her binoculars and headset taking in every word.
After the walk it was lunch at the cafe for me ( best toasted Turkish bread and coffee ever) while my granddaughter had her toasted sandwich, biscuit and drink.
To finish the day it was tree planting and talk of the bush understorey.
A very well worth it day, we loved every minute!

An amazing experience for young & old alike. In a small coordinated group led by a knowledgeable guide & armed with earphones & binoculars (so we didn’t miss anything) we walked through the bush encountering animals & bird life up close without interfering with them. The research station, towards the end of the walk, was a bonus!. 75 minutes of sheer delight! Don’t forget to visit the cafe & shop, great food & quality souvenirs of your visit that you will treasure for ever...

Booked tour at 14:00 as earlier slots fully booked, half expecting the wildlife to be half asleep. Completely wrong as saw multitude of active koalas including one climbing up from the undergrowth, and another low level close to the path. Between the group and our sharp eyed guide Sasha spotted couple of pademelons , red shoulder and swamp wallabies, a family of kangaroos and pair emus. An easy walk along a well maintained path, which with the extra sightings took two hours, although did not feel that long. And for those who appreciate wood, admire the path blackwood handrail, a labour in love by a very skilled craftsman. Or if into security ask about the fence design as clearly very effective in creating and maintaining this wildlife oasis since opening three years ago.

A relaxed walk in a protected area (no feral animals) in the Otways. The walk has a great balance of being outside walking through examples of Otway environments (eucalyptus, ferns, grassland) and a visit to the conservation centre to explore further information about conservation activity in the Otways. We saw baby turtles in the centre who were on their way to being released into the pond on site, around six koalas, including a mum and older juvenile, and a couple of emus. Lots of interesting facts about ferns, native plants, koalas, how the team work to track and understand wildlife. Our guide, Erin was really knowledgeable, passionate about wildlife and the centre’s work, a great experience. And the fee paid goes directly back to the conservation work.

Thanks so much for your lovely review, Andie. A really enjoyable educational experience in nature is exactly what we have tried to create at Wildlife Wonders - we're so pleased you had such a great time. We really loved our visit here. Came with my two kids (aged 7 & 10) and my parents. Our tour guide Taz was amazing. So knowledgeable and so enthusiastic. We were lucky that we were the only ones in our group. Binoculars and headset were a great addition to the tour. Personally I was hoping to see a few more animals but I also understand this is wildlife, not a zoo! Lovely facilities. Beautiful paths and the visitor/research centres are so well made. Would definitely recommend.

Thanks so much for your lovely review, Katie. We’re so pleased you had such a nice time. You’re right, as a natural bushland environment wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed - but when they happen they are so special, especially in such a lovely bushland setting. I agree, Taz (and all the guides) are truly amazing - I learn/see something new every tour I manage to join! We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

A must do! We happened to arrive 5 minutes before the 1 pm tour (you must go with a guide) on a walk around this reserve. The animals are free to roam, and are wildlife so not guarantees on what you will see. They don't feed them as they are wild!

We were lucky to see so many animals even with the 20 people in the group. We saw 3 emus, a kangaroo family with their joeys, a swamp wallaby, a kookaburra (who then flew off and sang to us!!!). We saw koalas, one of whom suddenly woke from his midday nap and started climbing and then needed a snack of eucalyptus leaves - quite a show. It was fun to to watch. We saw a gang gang cockatoo, a bandicoot and some other birds, lots of flora.

The path is flat is so easy to walk around. Our group kept spotting animals which helped the guide a lot. Our guide spent a bit too much time talking - we were interested in the history and animal info but some times it is nice for quiet to just enjoy the wildlife(we took off the head phones).

Would definitely recommend this reserve to visit.

I found this place by accident as I was driving the Great Ocean Road. I had spent 2 weeks in Australia at that point and hadn’t seen any native wildlife.
The prospect of seeing kangaroos and koalas was too much to resist and I decided to call in and take the tour.
The young lady who led the tour was amazing, her passion for the animals was infectious and she captivated the group of 6 people she was showing around.
We were enthralled and saw koalas in the trees, little paddymelons and of course the stars of the show, the kangaroos just completed a perfect day.
This is a beautiful place with amazing staff and you really should go!

Stopped off at wildlife wonders just off the great ocean road and glad I did. This is a fairly small reserve ( surrounded by a predator fence) and is accessed via the guided tours only ( I think). A lovely facility ( nice cafe, shop etc). The tour started with a briefing and we were kitted out with earpieces and binoculars. The tour itself was about 90 mins and was really interesting and showed the clear focus on ecology etc. as well as seeing some amazing wildlife, I learned loads on the tour and it was interesting to see the trail cameras and other eco exhibits. Well worth a visit, highly recommended.
