41 Degrees South Salmon and Ginseng Farm is located in the North of Tasmania. A short drive from Launceston along the Great Western Tiers Touring route takes there. The salmon farm is set up with sustainable practices in mind. The salmon are grown in fresh water tanks under Eco certified conditions. A man made and natural wetland is used as a bio filter for the fish waste, creating a beautiful habit for the native flora and fauna. Free tastings of the salmon and ginseng products are available in store where there is a small gift shop and cafe for light lunches and refreshments.Self guided tours around the farm are on offer 7 days a week.

We arrived just about on the doorknock of closing so were only able to have a very quick tasting. All was delicious and we purchased the "Hot Smoked Salmon" and a bottle of wine. Both exceptional although we are finding the Tassie wines to be a bit exxy. I am a bit disappointed that we did not allow ourselves enough... More

What a great tasting of hot smoked salmon where we were introduced to their rillettes, a spice mix and ginseng honey. Made a purchase or too. Thanks for our platter foods for tonight. We will enjoy them! Great advice too - we will try Tandy's Alehouse another day - Launceston - great advice from Matthew @ The 41° salmon farm!... More

This little place is tucked away but worth the stop. Delicious & educational for the kids to see & learn a little more about salmon farming

This was a worthwhile detour from the main road! A real gem. Gorgeous rustic setting, friendly and funny sales patter topped off with a sensational platter of salmon, breads and cheeses! Would definitely return next time! 😊

What a beautiful day. Set out with our party of 8 to investigate this venture. Beautiful scenery along the way both from and back to Devonport- the drive was lovely. The recommendation of hot smoked salmon and ginseng, platters with wine was a bit of an enticement. We weren't disappointed. Staff were friendly, platters were a selection of hot smoked... More

Attract to the name of the place, we stop by for lunch. Owner is friendly but very straight forward. We order the tasting plater and is good. Don't worry about the tour, just sit around and relax. If you have kids, please look after them so they do not drop into the pond.

We arrived on a rainy day and managed to get seats inside the tasting area. Free tastings and introductions of the salmon was provided by the owner. Order the burger if you would like a hot smoked salmon. We skipped the self-guided look around the farm as weather was unpredictable and an entrance fee was required. Be prepared for a... More

Drove past the sign and did a double take. 41deg is about 3 km of the main road and has the most tasty Hot smoked Salmon. Moist flaky and oh so tasty. The Ginseng spice is a great addition to every dish you want to cook. I didn't do the 'self guided tour' for $10 including fish food as I... More
