Overview
More
41 Degrees South Salmon and Ginseng Farm is located in the North of Tasmania. A short drive from Launceston along the Great Western Tiers Touring route takes there. The salmon farm is set up with sustainable practices in mind. The salmon are grown in fresh water tanks under Eco certified conditions. A man made and natural wetland is used as a bio filter for the fish waste, creating a beautiful habit for the native flora and fauna. Free tastings of the salmon and ginseng products are available in store where there is a small gift shop and cafe for light lunches and refreshments. Self guided tours around the farm are on offer 7 days a week.

Just popped in and was offered samples as soon as we arrived. Served by a very helpful young man. Unfortunately didn't have time to go farm tour. Loved all the samples and brought the spice mix. This is on the taste tour.

A short distance from Deloraine is this unique salmon farm. Unlike the mass production of more well known salmon farmers who grow their salmon in bays this farm actually grows them in large open air tanks on the land. A tour around the site gave...More

Thank you for your review and your kind words about our farm. Glad to hear you enjoyed the experience. As a small business we do have to charge more to keep afloat but everything is optional :)

Thank you for your lovely review and sorry whoever served you in the shop wasn't clearer on travelling with our product. The hot smoked salmon can go anywhere in the world, so no troubles to take to NZ!

A gem in the countryside because it is a unique business producing a lovely product. Salmon is delicious - firm, not too dry or too oily.
