Nina & Andrew were fantastic, both bubbly, with a great sense of humour and personable which made the tour truly special. They were great with communication from our initial booking and throughout our tour providing great answers to our questions and lovely with young children. The boat is in great condition, equipment was clean and snacks on point, we felt very safe cruising with them both. We particularly loved that the group size is kept small as it makes such an intimate experience. Lots of great information about Kangaroo Island and the sea life around the area. Would highly recommend!!

Andrew, the owner of Kangaroo Island Marine Adventures takes you on fast boat ride to see not only Dolphins that you can swim among but also discusses some of Kangaroo island's geology, geography and points out eagles nests where he frequently stops the boat to make interactive conversation. The boat is not overcrowded so people can move around easily to view this pristine area. The rear of the boat has a landing platform where those willing can easily slip into the water with the dolphins. There is no fear of bodily injury by spinning propellors as the boat is powered by Jets. Enroute back to the departure point Andrew puts the 700 hp into action and speed and agility of the boat is awesome. Absolutely Definitely an adventure that is both informative and casual. Tour lasted for 3 hours. Take a camera!!

This 3 hour tour was just outstanding! We never had such moments beneath the surface. We were able to swim within 50 bottlenose dolphins. They swam around us, were behind us just everywhere. But at first we saw some raptors as the whitebellied eagle, kestrel or the wedge tail eagle. But then we spotted the first dolphins and it all began. The water was blue/green, warm and cristal clear. After the swim we got some coffee and cookies. Both guides, Nina & Andrew were so lovely and helpful. Before we went back, the skipper set up full power and we were able to take some great pictures of the dolphins jumping around and surfing in the big wave, real fun! 101% recommendation - its a must do! Moments we will never forget.

My friends and I went on this tour and it should have been postponed or cancelled as it rainded and came in really windy for 3/4 of the trip and while we were going around to the dolphins the rain was like nails hitting us. We had to hide under our towel as it was hurting us. The sea was so rough that you could hardly swim in which caused me to have a panic attack. My friend is covered in bruises from trying to climb back on the boat from it being so rough the driver had to keep the motors running. He only offered us spray coats after we were already wet and on the Web site it said he offered wet suits but we had to ask for them after we were already wet from the rain. We found the owner very abrupt and not caring. Would not recommend this to anyone

The tour left at Emu Bay. Andrew was great. We had a cool day and though he had wetsuits available, everyone in the boat opted to just get in and swim! Andrew was great, he told us a bit about the environment and wildlife, and we had a joke about 'rockologists'. He knew the dolphin behaviour and sure enough, on cue, our dolphin lounge filled up with a pod of chilled out dolphins. It was fabulous to get in the water and swim among them. They even did their sonar clicks back to my pathetic attempts to talk to them. I enjoyed my hot coffee and biscuits after our 3 hour tour. The jet boat was a bit of fun too, zigging and zagging back to the jetty. There's no fanciness here, just a jet boat, guide and dolphins, and it was great! Take along a spray jacket and something to keep warm or covered while getting in and out of the boat, and perhaps 2 towels because you're wet all the time and might appreciate one dry one after the last swim. Well worth spending the money, and helps KI in their recovery efforts post the bushfire disaster of 2019/20. Thanks Andrew for a top experience.

Friendly, informal and delivered s promised. A majority of the boat jumped in for an amazing experience over the next part of an hour - the dolphins were magical and friendly and a little boisterous with each other but utterly charming with the humans. Even for those of us who didn’t brave the sea, it was a fantastic and uplifting experience. We also go to see a couple of seals, some salmon, and a few birds of prey on the nooks and crannies of the cliff face. Absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves nature. The boat is very safe and secure so even the nervous will have no issues

From the moment we stepped on the boat our skipper Andrew made us feel welcome and kept us informed the whole way along showing us wildlife from this well equipped boat.

Swimming with the dolphins was a delight and Andrew knew exactly how to drop us in between the pod and allowed interaction with these delightful animals.

Cannot recommend this company highly enough. Six stars out of five.

Thanks again Andrew

Thanks AndrewK6911 for your review of our dolphin swim exp , we have been running dolphin swim tours for more than 15 yrs & consider ourselves to be the dolphin swim experts on kangaroo island our reviews reflect this. the boat is well set up to cater for dolphin swimming allowing easy access in and out the water via a large boarding ladder thats very easy to negotiate in & out of water for all ages just walk on up its that simple we dont have any age limits for kids as its a free swim in shallow water your not being towed by a rope behind the boat so as long as the kids are confident and they can swim its an amazing experience the whole family can enjoy , swim aids & life jackets are available if needed to enjoy the experience the other cool feature is we operate a prop free zone meaning we dont have any nasty propellors to cause harm or injury to our swimmers & or marine life & the dolphins appreciate this which is easy to see one thing i cant stress enough is that a wild dolphin swim is something that just "can not be rushed" (not at all ) years of experience has proven this that it must be on the dolphins terms & the very reason we dont use fins put fins on people and dolphins will get chased to a point of leaving the area of which they came to relax in so its a no brainer as far as amazing interactions & being respectful inside a dolphins relaxation area this is the reason we offer a 3 hr experience it allows plenty of time to interact with the dolphins on there terms and plenty of time to reflect on just how amazing that was with a hot coffee / tea & some treats theres nothing better than immersing yourself amongst a wild pod of dolphins & having them surround you on all sides diving & making there signature clicks & whistles ...... just incredible as you know ... oh and the reason we dont swim with seals is because we cant guarantee your safety & your safety is our no 1 priority ..........

Such an amazing experience. Everyone got enough time in the water with them. I was also lucky enough to go in by myself as I’m 30 weeks pregnant and the dolphins could sense my baby. They came up so close me I could touch them. This closeness wasn’t limited to me though as others were actually dancing in the water with them.

We will definitely be back once our kids are older as our 3 year old didn’t like the cold water, but had a ball just watching from the boat.

Writing this as a forewarning since they didn’t give me this information when I booked.

Booked 3 months in advance and asked them about transportation to the tour since we would be arriving in Penneshaw by cruise ship. They said that they did not have information concerning the shuttle service to Kingscote because it was changing operators. What they didn’t tell me is that the secondary location for the tour is relatively far from Kingscote. There are no taxis on the island and this would therefore require a rental car to get to. This would have been nice to know 3 months in advance. Instead I got a text the evening before the tour stating the starting location would be in Emu Bay. Luckily the car rental had one car left for me to book as I struggled to find transportation less than 24 hours before the tour.

Due to unforeseen weather, our cruise ship couldn’t anchor at Kangaroo Island. I notified the tour operators as soon as I found out and asked for a refund. A refund was refused and no future credit was even offered. I understand their policy is no refund less than 24 hours, but it’s not like I had a choice. Their policy is also to give full refunds for COVID issues, so it concerns me why my situation couldn’t garner a consideration.

Overall their communication and customer service was extremely poor. I am sure it would have been a great tour but I hope others can learn from our situation and be better prepared.

An amazing experience. Incredible proximity to these beautiful creatures who play around the boat. Andrew brought the boat Into the middle of the pod of dolphins so we could easily slip off the back of the boat into their midst. The dolphins were clearly unfussed by our presence. . Wetsuits, masks and snorkels of excellent quality provided. Andrew is a knowledgeable and engaging guide. In addition to the dolphins, along the water we saw seals, sea eagles, and kestrels. A trip not to be missed.
