Great day with our guide Kevin - informative, friendly and funny and an all round "good bloke!" Knows so much about the island, its people and history.
Amazed at how many places we were able to fit into one day without feeling rushed. Got to sample lots of the islands produce and support the small businesses who really need our support right now - so we highly encourage everyone to get out and book a trip to KI and recommend Kangaroo Island Trails to get around.

I was extremely fortunate to be directed to Kylie from Kangaroo Island Trails and secure 3 places on the Kangaroo Island Tasting Tour during a recent cruise visit to the island. The itinerary, price and time were all far superior to what was on offer via the cruise ship and gave us a greater amount of time in Kingscote. My husband and I were particularly interested in seeing some of the history of Kangaroo Island and Hope Cottage in Kingscote had been recommended as the place to go. As there are no tours on offer that specifically cater to showcasing the history, Kylie suggested that we could skip the gin distillery and winery to be dropped off and picked up at Hope Cottage while the rest of the group continued with the scheduled itinerary. It worked out a perfectly and we had 2 hours in which to absorb the treasures on display. My mother stayed with the group and we all enjoyed the day immensely. Next to our little side trip, highlights were the Lavender Farm morning tea (who knew lavender scones and lavender jelly could taste so good?!) and the Eucalyptus oil distillery (where there are some really quality Eucalyptus and emu oil products for sale). Lutz provided an excellent and very informative commentary which also included quite a bit of the fascinating history of Kangaroo Island. Well worth the cost and definitely recommended as an introduction to Kangaroo Island.

With her passion & enthusiasm for her island home, it's history & her love of photography and nature, Nikki pulled out all stops, to educate, inform and entertain us on this small, personalized, "best of" tour. It was a stunning day and the sights were remarkable! Highly recommended.

My husband and I were eager to visit KI but had a hard time figuring out how to arrange a one day visit from our “home” base of Adelaide. Owner Kylie assisted us with the entire round trip: bus, ferry, pick up from the ferry terminal, and then the trip back. She was very pleasant despite my credit card being a bit glitchy.
Upon arrival we were picked up by Nikki. She is extraordinary. She knows so much about wildlife, the vegetation, history, culture, and geology. She asked if we wanted to have a bag lunch rather than stop at a restaurant. What a great idea! (We didn’t come to KI to dine and wine.) She provided tasty sandwiches, refreshing drinks, and apples: just perfect!
Most importantly we circumnavigated the island and saw sea lions, koalas, lizards, kangaroos, wallabies, echidna, many different birds, pelicans, and probably a few more… in the wild.
We also visited spectacularly beautiful venues: outlooks, beaches, woods, coastal areas. Several were tucked away and available only with this company.
We loved Nikki’s warmth, enthusiasm for the animals, her love of and loyalty to KI, and desire to share her knowledge with us.
We were so happy to have this once-in-a-lifetime experience with Kangaroo Island Trails.

Our driver Nikki was a natural at being a tour guide. She was often humorous and had extensive geographical and scientific knowledge. Since the weather was perfect we got off to a smooth start and we never felt rushed. Breaks were well timed and we were provided cup cakes for a morning snack, and chicken salad rolls with excellent fruit juice for lunch. Water was available at any time. We spotted a koala, dusky kangaroo and many lizards during the day. I can't pick a favourite point during the excursion, it was all marvellous. We were taken to all the most interesting spots on the island. At the end of the day, Nikki even took us the the local supermarket so that be could buy some personal items to take back to the ship.

My husband and I booked two tours with Kangaroo Island Trails in March: the Half Day Tasting Tour and the Scenic, Nature & Wildlife Tour. This company was recommended by friends in Adelaide and the tours were one of the highlights of our visit to Australia. Our satisfaction was in no small part due to the excellent tour guide Pete we had for both tours. He was superb! Friendly right from the start and so knowledgeable about the sites and offerings of Kangaroo Island. We also really liked the concept of small group tours. In fact, for the Tasting Tour there were only 3 guests: ourselves and one other lady. Probably not so good for your business, but for us it was a very personal tour and we had alot of attention from Pete. He seemed to be 'Australia personified'.
On the tasting tour we really enjoyed the large lavender scones at the Lavender Farm on Emu Bay. And then the paddles of KI ciders (at the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery), gin (at KI Spirits) and wine (at the Bay of Shoals winery). The next morning we were ready for the full day tour of the island. A special opportunity to see the sea lions at Seal Bay followed by lunch at the General Store in Vivonne Bay: fresh grilled whiting on a toasted Turkish bun. Delicious, and as good as at any restaurant in a city. We then travelled over to Flinders Chase National Park area and thoroughly enjoyed a walk around the Remarkable Rocks. Amazing geological formation.
We will definitely recommend Kangaroo Island Trails to friends who are
considering visiting Australia. It was well worth travelling so far from Canada.

We had a fabulous full day tour of KI our driver and tour guide Pete was very knowledgeable, engaging and friendly -we both learnt so much about the islands flora and fauna. Besides being taken to the islands historical spots and national parks, we also stopped along the islands roadways to view native wildlife such as koalas, goanna, eagles.
Lots of photos were taken! We highly recommend Kangaroo Island Trails and our tour guide / driver Pete.

The scenery at Admiral’s Arch and Remarkable Rocks we’re fabulous. The guided tour on the beach at Seal Bay was another huge highlight because a heap of baby seals came out to play and the park officer kept the crowd under control.She called it their “puppy day care” moment while mum is away catching fish.
The absolute highlight was our driver and guide Lutz. He was helpful, informative, organised and made everything so easy.

A great tour, seen amazing wild life I had never dreamt of seeing, sporting koala sitting on tree branch and kangaroo chewing their yummy food, plus the seals are the definition of relaxation, a baby seal chasing seagull was the best part. Thx Nikkie for her expert commentary on wild life as well as local life on Kangaroo island. Always good to have a mature lover as a guide. Absolutely love it

Nikki Redman (sp?) was the most amazingly knowledgeable and committed wildlife guide. We saw wild kangaroos, koalas, birds, sea lions, wallabies, and seals, as well as beautiful rock formations like Remarkable Rocks and The Admirals Arch. She is also loads of fun and a truly talented wildlife photographer. Would do the tour again in a second.

Thanks for your enquiry. Yes, we can certainly do that. We have 2 Scenic Tours available, one is for Cruise Ship passengers only and is a lot cheaper as the tour is a shortened version of the full day tour but if you are arriving on a cruise ship day, you are welcome to jump on with them at the same price otherwise it will be our usual Full Day Scenic Tour. What date will you be arriving?
