Ideally suited to hybrid or mountain type bikes, this trail passes through vineyards and natural bush as the rider travels between Clare and Auburn. A basic level of fitness is required to cover the return distance (in excess of 50 km) and the slight gradient...More

The reisling trail is a great way to see some of the wineries and towns in the valley. It's great to see that a community can "recycle" the old railway line. We spent a day riding the rail and visiting places along the way. A...More

The trail itself is a beautiful ride, the wineries and attractions are a bit off the track - be mindful of taking kids that off the track involves public roads, whilst quiet, they still are 80kph roads at times - great fun though and the...More

This experience was on my bucket list for a reason and I'm so glad to have ridden along the Riesling trail to different wineries and restaurants. Don't miss it when you're in Claire.

This whole experience is so completely overrated (you’ll be told about it as a highlight of your Clare visit!). We were up for it as it sounded really good and we like bike riding. It wasn’t! Firstly one bike provider closed for the day (just...More

A beautiful way to experience the Clare Valley. Off the main roads, the ride is self paced and super safe. Thankfully we avoided the brown snakes and swooping magpies... everything is very well signposted to ensure you don't get lost. We didn't encounter too many...More

Organise accommodation on or near the trail, check they have bikes for you and go for it. Such a fun experience. Tip from our B&B host was to purchase a few wines from each winery then pick them up the next day in the car...More

the trail itself is an easy ride but some of the the tracks to the wineries were a little more challenging. i.e. up to Skillagolee had a few hills but was still a good thing to do. We hadnt been on a pushbike for sometime.

We were there during the week and were surprised at how much was closed. If there are places you really want to visit I'd ring to confirm. We also found that advertised times were'nt 100% reliable.

We stayed at clarevale b&b which was great and a couple of hundred metres from trail. Otherwise we cycled past a couple of places on track. Clare gives you the best range of dining options, supermarkets, pubs etc
